Buying a car without wheels/tires?

I'm going to buy a new GT very soon, and have one last question. Has anyone bought their mustang without wheels and tires? In other words, received a discount for putting their own aftermarket wheels/tires on at the time of purchase and letting the dealer keep the stock ones? I have a set of forgestars and nitto invos ready to go on a car and would like to skip the hassle of selling and shipping the stock ones if possible. Any input appreciated, thanks!

You can ask your dealer... But most likely it will benefit you more to do it yourself. Take off wheels and tires are still technically used. And if they are a "Unpopular" wheel or tire size they will give you little of nothing for them. Especially since they will be putting in all the effort to store and sell them. Plus they will likely charge you to install your aftermarket wheels... Good luck with the new Stang!

I tried this when we got our Ford Flex. It was a no go.
I though if I have to finance it why shouldn't I be able to pick the shoes.

I believe they have to sell a complete car. Now, they might include the new wheels you want at their cost and purchase......

To warranty the car it has to have the factory rolling stock when it's sold.

Just sell the wheels on the forum or Craig's List. I'm sure someone will throw down $500-600 for brand new wheels and tires. Especially the guys with 05-09 or base model V6s.

I had my dealer install GT500 axle backs (quads) after I signed for the car. Part of the deal. They put the stockers in the trunk. Warranty not voided.

That's not tires and wheels. I should have said a liability issue instead of warranty.

You can sell the brand new 18" Base GT take-offs for about $600, 19" Premium for about $800, and Brembo's for about $1200.

The dealer will not be able to give you money off the purchase, they legally have to sell a complete vehicle, though they might be able to locate a buyer for you, but chances are you won't get any more than selling yourself.
