Buy a base gt or get the premium?
So I have an order in for a Base GT with track pack and recaros plus sync...FINALLY got a vin and build date of 5/14 and who knows on the ETA.
However, There is another car, same specs almost exactly but its a premium...so it has the leather recaros instead of the cloth, and costs about 4000 more all said.
Is it worth the extra 4000 for the track apps, leather (I want the cloth :/) to get a car now instead of waiting most likely about another month?
Will the premiums hold their value better because of the track apps/leather seats? (Never thought I would face this decision...didnt plan on having to wait 3 months for a car...)
Any input would be appreciated!

usually the more a car costs the more it depreciates over the same time period.
However, a leather seated car will look better after many years on the interior and that may make someone more likely to buy your car.

whats new for 2013 is the track apps, if you're changing vehicles might as well get the one that has more toys in it to add to your experience..it wont plummet to the ground in depreciating, Y.O.L.O.
aside from that u'll find leather is easier to clean and doesnt soak dust in over time.. i had both i like leather now.

you loose $4,000-$6,000 value of your car as soon as you leave the lot. i prefer cloth as well, i live in CA and leather sucks during summer and some cold winters. Thus the reason why installed the boss 302 wheel, cuz leather steering wheel gets really hot and cold. Cloth grips you in place better than lather i think.

Faced with the same decision, I got the regular GT. I really wanted the leather but it was the ONLY thing I wanted in the premium package and couldn't justify another 4 grand for it. Especially when you can have an upholstery shop install it later for about half that price.

Unless your going to be getting rid of the car in a few years I wouldn't worry about buying options for the next owner. Get what will make you happy.

Personally, I'd wait it out. Patience is a virtue, and it sounds like you ordered exactly what you wanted. I love my saddle leather on my '12, but if I was getting Recaros I'd want the cloth ones. Best of luck.

Thanks for all the input everyone!...I think I am going to stay with my gut and just wait it out...as much as it is killing me, that extra 4G's = a lot of track days and new wheels
I feel like if I was going the premium route, I might as well just jump into a boss for a bit more. However, the value proposition going from a base to a boss is just too steep to handle, since it would be about $13,000 more for a boss :X
THIS WAIT SUCKS!!!!!

if the dealer has both there, I would check out both and make your decision from that. Thats what I did when I got my 2012 GT premium. I sat in that and the base. And the extras for the premium were worth the extra cash as I will probably keep this for a while.
BUt go with what makes you the most satisfied. In the end its just money...yes you can add bits and pieces later, but its just so muh easier when they are already on the car
