Build my suspension for $1300!

I am contemplating ordering the eibach pro system plus for $900 or ordering one of the ford racing kits for $1400. Can someone that has this stuff down pat put together a system that will perform better than the ford system for 1300-1400??? I am looking for at least a 1-1.5 inch drop. I am worried about the eibach struts and shocks not being any good.. even tho its only $900. This car is a garage queen not a daily driver. I want to hang with my buddies c6 around a track lol

Coyotekiller,

Does the $1300 include install or just parts?

What year & model do you have? If you would like ... email me at tim@steeda.com and we can get you to your needs.

Take a look at this video ... we did this a couple years ago ... but I definitely think it is what you are looking for and its right around your price range:

Best Regards,

TJ

Hard to believe a better system for the money exists than the Ford-engineered one.

Probably Koni Sports and H&R racing springs, if you can handle the 2 inch drop, and then adjustable LCA's, PHB, and relo brackets.

just a c6 vette, he put a wide body kit and z06 suspension on it tho. so c6 power and c6 brakes, might be a pretty even race when i have my suspension done and some good summer tires

I would say at that point it's a drivers race. In any case I wouldn't cheap out on suspension if you really want to be competitive and not have to spend money again to upgrade, which I feel you would end up doing in the end with the Ford kit. You could always get some sticky tires and then see from there what you feel the car needs.

Do you have the track pack or brembo pack?

I plan to do the Koni yellow's with a set of springs.

You could also look for a set of Boss take-offs which would outperform the base Mustang suspension and would be a cheap interim upgrade if you want to save money.

If you're going to track it and keep up with a (well driven) C6, you need to look at brakes and tires if you haven't already!!

Like he said.

You will be just under your 1300 limit.

For track use you will find you need Dot 4 brake fluid and better brake pads if you push the car at all on the track. Next steps would be 18 inch wheels and grippy tires for track use. I found 07-09 GT500 wheels for 475 shipped. A few scuffs but will only use them for track with stickier tires. If you do not have the track pack then you may also find you want LCA's with firmer bushings.

Boss 302 take offs should be around 600 dollars but not close to the same performance as the Steeda and Koni Yellos.

And Steeda has a springs sale going on right now. Also a call to Sam at stranoparts is always a good thought.

No one is suggesting sway bars? What about control arms and panhard bar?
As far as brands go I would go with steeda over the eibach stuff. Koni for the s/s

Koni yellows are way better than the ford racing shocks and the eibach strut/shock combo?? I see they are expensive, but are they really worth the price over the competition?? I have no track pack and no brembo package. I bought amr's yesterday and nitto invo's.

Yes koni yellow is worth it if you plan to track the car.
I would NOT recommend camber bolts for a track car. GT500 mounts are not adjustable. Go with adjustable camber plates. Steeda HD are a solid choice for a street and track car.
Don't worry about sway bars for now. May not need to change them at all.
Lots of info and lots of opinions on this site. Mine is start simple...and the springs and shocks with good tires is how to start.
Don't forget stock brake fluid and pads will be an issue if you your driving skill allows you to take my first instructors advice "their is no coasting in racing. only accelerating and braking". My brother went right through a set of stock pads in his very first track day and the drive home was no fun.
I am a former SCCA racer and track day instructor. New to Mustang but not new to the fundamentals. You can waste a lot of money buying stuff you don't really need.
Call Sam at Stranoparts as he is an expert and can advise for your specific needs and has handling kits with steeda and koni.

I am biased ... but you can definitely get a great package for the $1300 that will take your handling to a new level.

Our sports springs are currently on sale:

http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-m...ings-555-8215/ $232.95

Pro Action Shocks & Struts - http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-p...s-555-8405-11/ $449.95

HD Strut Mounts - http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-m...unts-555-8135/ $349.95

The complete package is here: http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-m...kage-555-8413/ for $1029.95.

Add a Panhard bar to the $1029.95 @ $167.95 and you have a package that is a complete upgrade package.

Steeda specializes in suspensions, the package together, all by Steeda, will give you the piece of mind that all the parts will work together without any issues.

Our parts have a lifetime warranty.

Let me know if I can help answer any questions? Like the video above ... you can see how much improved the suspension is.

Best Regards,

TJ

From everything I've read and heard, the Koni Sports/ Steeda Sport setup is the best stock configuration setup out there. That is what i will get when i finally upgrade my '14. Sam Strano seems to be the man when it comes to this stuff - I think he has 15+ SCCA championships to his credit?

What year is your Mustang? If 2011 or newer buy the Steeda HD strut mounts for the 2011-14 model and the Koni's for the newer model as well.
