How long did your pads last from the factory? My fronts just started grinding really bad out of nowhere. 3xxx miles

Eating into the rotors?

Have 5K on mine so far and no such issues.

Wearing evenly? I have seen someone with brembos have one edge of the pads wear thin as if the caliper was misaligned...

Mine are okay at 18,000. Just had the wheels off and they look like 75% left.

Didn't have time to examine everything, had to leave for work. Car is at home parked, I'll have to look more tomorrow. From what I did look at, rotors seemed fine.

Well, if it is the pads grinding, they would only be grinding against the rotors.

You're going to have to pull the wheels so you can examine the back side.

They may just be contaminated with trash, and a good pad re-bedding may solve it.

Google "Bedding brake pads"

It's a process of seating the pads to the rotors.

Lots of times when performance pads are only used somewhat softly, they don't wear evenly. Bedding them in helps smooth out the wear, and will increase braking performance.

Nope Ltngdrvr is correct. There is a procedure for this. CarboTech has this procedure on their website under the FAQ section.

that's crazy.... I can't imagine replacing pads or rotors that early! I usually get 60,000km at the very least

47K and mine are still in great shape, but I religiously compression brake my cars.

This is on the list. I have just over 20K on mine and they have been iffy lately. Maybe I'm just out driving them.
