Brand New 2013 Grabber Blue, Do I Wax?

Hey guys I have always wanted a Mustang and now at age 50 I picked up a 2013 Premium V6 Grabber Blue. I am in love. Anyway my question is simple. Should I go ahead and wax the car after just one day of ownership? I have owned plenty of new cars and never considered a wax on day 1 but for some reason I want this car to stay beautiful.

I'd do a search and you'll find some good info. I'm not the expert on detailing but from reading others posts my bet is people will say to wash and clay bar it first to remove any toxins on the surface especially if it came on rail.

I would clay bar it right away and get the rail dust off your car before it etches the paint.

FWIW a guy on S197 forum got a race red 2013 and within probably 4 days of owning it he clay barred it. and probably has about 15 coats of wax on a car. By the time the car reaches the dealer and gets to you the paint has had some time to harden.

I clayed, polished and waxed on my first day.

My previous '11 V6 didn't get that treatment immediately and there were still some contaminants that I couldn't get out when I traded it in
