Brake Pads for Base model 2011 GT
I need brakes pads and wanted to know is there a performance pad available thru Ford?
Ford has a performance parts/racing line of OE parts ... Do they have anything for the Non-Brembo OE set up?

Carbotech would be my choice for DD. Hawks bite hard, but dust a lot and wear pretty quickly from what I've witnessed.
5.Monster's recommendation has my concurrence.

I'm going to stay with Ford Parts that's why I was wondering if FORD has a performance pad offered. I'm going to keep the Mustang and going to take advantage of their free pad replacement. Want to get the best FORD parts I can.
Took the beast to the Mountains a few weeks ago and went out on Dirt Fire roads...

What vendor sells the Carbotech pads?

For the life of the Vehicle as long as you own it. Will need to pay for other costs and Rotors as needed.
This Car works so well as a Stock vehicle I don't have to 'highly modify' it to make it substantially better. Later might do suspension, and a supercharger.
Might do Big Brakes (BAER) along with larger diameter wheels. At that point no Free Pad replacement. Till then I'll stay OE and take advantage of what FORD is offering.

You can get pads from Carbotech directly:
http://www.ctbrakes.com/pads.asp?Make=Ford
Vorschlag motorsports also sells them:
http://www.vorshlag.com/index.php?cPath=141_142_280
And there are a few more vendors I can't think of right now too.

I am a new supporting vendor specializing in Carbotech brake pads. If your car is just for street use I would look at the 1521 vs the AX6. The AX6 tends to be noisy on the street and dusty. If you have not bought pads yet and would like to discuss options I will be happy to help you we offer 5% discount for forum members. Feel free to contact me direct at 216-780-8824 or by email chad@ampdautosport.com

I have XP8s in the rear permanently, and they do squeak a little, but it doesn't bug me. The XP10s on the front were unbearably loud, so I swapped them in and out for track days. I'd expect the AX6 to be quieter though.
Did you pull the trigger on these pads? How is the noise.
Chad, My XP10 front pads are done now (<3mm lining), and I think I'll replace them with XP12s next seasons for a bit more bite and more fade resistance peace of mind. (I haven't faded the XP10, but I think I came close temperature wise)
Any bias concerns with running XP12/XP8 front/rear setup?

5.MONSTER, I don't really see an issue running Xp12/Xp8 combo. It would be great if you can tell me what tires you are using for the track? Xp12 might over brake the tire and tend to wear faster then the xp10.
FYI the AX6 is duster and noisier then Xp8

The Xp12/8 combo will be used with Bridgestone Ponenza S04s in 275 square setup for 1 season, then with BFG Rivals or Potenza RE-11s in 285 square for the rest of their pad life. Do you think the XP12 would over-brake them and I should stick with the XP10 compound?
Also, did you say the AX6 is dustier and noisier than the XP8?
