I bet that will be the intake on the 2012 Boss 302 se Mustang. It is being tested under racing conditions which is great. That is the new 5.0 engine if you look closely. Also, look at how that intake has a notch in the middle for a strut bar. If it was fully experimental, or just for racing, that would not be needed; especially since that car is running without a strut bar. Also, note that the factory cold air box is being used. Interesting.

Remember that the original Boss 302 was a high revver, and that tunnel ram style intake is just the ticket for that. Also, that 5.0's air-flow capabilities are not even closely tapped out in its GT form. I would imagine this is a 450hp engine with 7500-8000rpm capability.

I want these for my '07.

They have got to be pricey. Can't wait till Kevin gets pricing.

Well if the current 19" GT500 wheel pricing is any indication (they are over $1,000 a wheel ), then these will cost EVEN MORE!!!

I don't think the new SVT Performance Package wheels for the GT500 are the same as the BBS wheels for the Boss R.

Here's another version with sound. You can only here the Boss at the very beginning.

Okay, the GT-350 vid, now this. This car just does NOT sound like a Mustang. It sounds like an exotic. We need to hear it in person I guess. The original Ford vid showing the black 2011 sounded a little better/deeper, but hard to tell.

ASA wheels might as well be pressed mud forms compared to BBS wheels.

ASA wheels are licensed by BBS. Not made exactly the same way, so they're a bit heavier than the BBS counterpart. The Fikse wheels that were on the FR500C weren't chump change either.

Fikse made great wheels, until they went under

Wow! I hear what you're saying. It sounds pretty wild albeit not necessarily what you'd expect a Mustang to sound like.

I don't think we will see/hear the same exhaust system on a street version of the Boss 302. That is a race car in the video, after all. Also, the only part of that video that is definitely the sound of the Boss is at the very beginning as it is decelerating for the turn. There were obviously other vehicles on the track that were much closer to the camera. Kind of hard to tell much from that.
However, IIRC the Coyote does have a different firing order than the modulars. From what I have read the firing order is the same as was used on the original Ford V8, the flathead from 1932.

Oh interesting! I know, I was only referencing the beginning of the vid in my post. But even the GT350 vid, it sounds very raspy and rough. And now that you mention it, it does sound like a flathead with glasspacks! And I don't really like that. I think this may really make me want a '10 that much more...

This vid has too much going on to pass judgement on the sound of the exhaust.

You'll hear what it sounds like on Feb 13th when they televise this weekend's CTC race.
