Boss 302 Seats!

You can bet that the guys on Team Mustang would love to keep the "Boss" stuff exclusive to the Boss Mustang only but good luck with that one. The boys over at Ford Racing will be making a HUGE case for being able to sell it all through the Ford Racing catalog. My guess is that only the VIN number will be a distinguishing factor whether you have a "true" Boss or not.

Well, if Ford would properly bolster the seats in the Mustang to match even the most entry level sporting cars from other manufacturers I could see people not caring about the Recaros. I'd look in to buying either the Boss or GT500 seats if I had the car. I wouldn't want them to say BOSS or have the Cobra logo but if that's the case I would probably look elsewhere. I don't like mix and matching parts, plus I do love the Saddle leather as well. Either way, I'd be nice to see a better seat in the Mustang. My Si has better standard seats.

I'm sure Ford will have a version of the Boss seat. It'll probably be all cloth and have a running pony logo where the Boss 302 lettering is. But I'm just guessing.
They know people will want the seats for GT's and even V6's so why not meet the demand with a little supply. Just not the exact Boss seat.

That said, if FRPP offered a seat upgrade for owners, I'd be all over it. I just don't want the badging on them that might come from a Boss/GT500 seat.

After watching the new Boss 302 as the pace car in tonight's Nationwide race at Homestead, I don't think I want ANYTHING off that car....and it was red, the least ugly color on it. I had a new '70 Mach 1, and always envied the Boss 302 owners back then......but not now !

I thought that looked like a CS. But you're right it had that C stripe. I don't care for the stripe.

A part like quad exhaust is one thing, but the logo is another. I don't feel it does the name justice to pose a car as something other than what it was built as. I mean we all know how we feel when we see a 2003/4 Mustang pimped out in Cobra badges like a Terminator then hear the engine and note that it's a V6. I mean take any part you want to put on your car, just make sure it doesn't have the Boss 302 logo prominently displayed on it if it isn't a Boss 302.

I say go for it. This isn't a Ferrari, it's a mass produced, reasonably priced RWD V8 vehicle. Mustang's legacy and spirit lies in "raiding the parts bin", not trying to be exclusive or exclude anyone.
Now badge mixing can be confusing that's for sure, and I'm perfectly happy with my 5.0s and running ponies. But if you want the seats, and they are made available, you should get the seats

How about the engine? The adjustable dampers?

Hell, the 00R Recaros were available through the FRPP catalog, and they only made 300 of those cars.
I can see Ford recouping some of their investment by offering them for sale. What logo? Who knows.
