So I'm walking out to my car to go to work this morning, and much to my suprise, something doesn't seem quite right with the front end of my car:


From the paint transfer it looks like it might be a white car. And either the bumper was full of dirt, or the other car was full of it (like a pickup or panel truck). Just finished looking around the parking lot, and didn't see any vehicles with obvious damage, so I'm going to take another look later when more people are home for work.

The body shop estimates $1500 for a new bumper, new grill, new fender, an alignment, and a new fender liner, and it might need a new radiator support as well. Luckily it's all covered under my uninsured motorist until I find the SOB.

I'm hoping that my chances are good to find the person, as the apartment I live in has a gated parking lot (no cameras though), so it's a 99% chance it was a resident.

 

Oh that sucks!!! That s SO ****ty. People just suck. I really really really hope you find the SOB. I see you have VA tags- where in VA?

On the bright side you can use this opportunity to get a roush, CS, or steeda fascia

 

I'd be watching for vehicles that you normally see, that aren't there all of a sudden and trying to figure out who owns them. They're not going to come back in with damage that could be linked to that. Also, I'd be willing to bet its going to be more than $1500 to fix that.

That sucks!! If that was me, only part of me that would want to listen to them is my foot, up their ****!! My baseball bat prob listens well? Sorry, this stinks.

 

This is why my car could never sleep outside! I know some can't help it but the person that did this was probably on something!

Hey, just thought of something... Does the 2012 have a collision alarm? Like if they hit it, would the horn go off, that could help me at least track down a time if I can ask neighboors on that side of the building if they heard a car alarm.

THAT SUCKS but you never never never leave your car parked in the street overnight, EVER!!!

 

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a spot to call their own to park at night.

 

I know it's a bad thing, but if I found out who did that to my car, they'd come out to flats in the morning. And the left over value taken out on their paint. Stuff like this happens at my college all the time. Parking is tight and you can't park anywhere else. They'll mess up a nice car cause they're late for class and need a spot.
