Bigger tires on rear?

So has anyone out there put wider tires on their factory 19" wheels?

I'm finding a lot of info on an "optional" rear size of 275/40ZR19's. The stock tire diameter is 27.7" and the 275 series is a 27.6" Diameter. Hardly noticeable. But what I'm concerned about is the factory wheel width. It's a 19x8.5 and they "recommend" your wheel be 9.5" width for the 275/40ZR19's.

Anyone ran these tires on the back? Has anyone experiences problems with them with clearance or an issue with it not seating on the wheel?

275 will not fit correctly on a 8.5 inch wheel. Do not even think about it.

What's the widest I could go? And what wheel width would fit a 275?

Will a 19x10" work as well? And I appreciate the feedback.
