Best deal on 2012? Need some help here guys

Hello my fellow TMS ladies and gents! I am in search of the best deal on a 2012 Mustang GT Auto in the United States. There are a few things to note, though, first.

1) My wife and I are about to close on a house in the coming weeks, so we won't be able to pull the trigger on a new car before we officially close on the house.

2) I have a 2010 F-150 that I need to trade in towards the Mustang. I am definitely in the hole on it, I know, but I can discuss those details with whoever can seriously help me out.

3) I am also looking for a new Fiesta or Focus for my wife, but in turn would need to trade in her 2006 GMC Envoy, as well. If this makes for a sweeter deal for a salesman, getting two trade-ins and make two new car sales, then we are definitely game.

4) I am looking to stay within a certain monthly payment range on the Mustang, and Fiesta/Focus if we end up being able to make a deal on both cars, but again, I can discuss that further with whoever can work with me.

5) I live in San Antonio, Texas, but if the dealer is in another city/state, that is fine.

I have talked with a person from a dealership on here before, but it was so long ago and on a non-existent user name that I don't remember who it was. If one of the guys from a dealership looks at this and thinks that they can help me out, please feel free to reply to this thread, PM me, or e-mail me at lwollney@gmail.com

If someone on this site knows someone I can go to to get some help, I will be extremely appreciative!

The dealers I have talked to already haven't really been all that helpful which is a bit disappointing. It seems like the customer support and willingness to help people has kind of gone down the drain in my area.

I look forward to hearing back from someone soon.

Thanks a ton guys,
Luke

I bought a 2012 using X Plan pricing combined with the incentives ($1500 off from Ford, plus a $750 cash coupon from a brochure from Ford) totaling $2250 off of X Plan. Combined with the very good financing rates that you can take out to 60 months at 1.9% (48 months, 0.9% and 36 months 0.0%) you're not paying a lot for the money.

Struck a fair deal IMO without ever having to say a word haggling. "This is what I want, this is the price I'm paying, here is my PIN. Thanks!"

Easy as pie.

With that color combo u might have to order it.

Joining the Mustang Club of America will allow you to get x-plan.

Is there a specific amount I have to pay in order ot get X-Plan through Mustang Club of America? Or does the base $50/year subscription work?

Once I join, do I need to do anything specifically in order to get the X-Plan card in the mail? Like, do I need to request it or anything?

I am guessing X-Plan with the current incentives would be prety good. I am currently looking at a MSRP price of around $31K. Anyone know what that would be on X-Plan with the current incentives?

Thank you to everyone for chipping in their advice. This is starting to really help. I am really hoping to get into the MCA and getting the X-Plan is that if the best way to go.

Thanks!

P.S. Can I use X-Plan on other vehicles with the MCS membership or doe sit only apply to Mustangs?

Thanks again!

X-plan is x-plan. Even though you have it through MCA you can use it for whatever vehicle you choose. The $50/yr membership will cover it. X-plan is a great way to get a car if you're going to order it. It's invoice price - 0.4% + advertising fee + destination + no more than $100 in dealer fees. Those fees all wash out with the incentives so if you look up the invoice price on the car, you'll basically have the price of the car without tax, tag and title.

HOWEVER... you can't order a Lava Red car for the current model year anymore so if you really want Lava you're going to have to find one on a dealer lot.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I don't NEED a Lava Red one. But, I would be looking to pick one up off the dealer lots anyway, so no worries there.

I am a little confused, though, with part of your statement. I do still need to pay tax, title, and license on the vehicle, correct? Even with the X-Plan. That would make sense, correct?

Reading back over your reply, I think you were saying that I would basically be paying invoice for the car + ttl. At least, with the current offers from Ford ($1500).

Do you know where I can find for a giving car? Maybe somewhere looking up the invoice by the VIN or something?

Also, in order to get the PIN and X-Plan card, do I need to request it after paying for the membership or do they send it automatically?

Thank you again!

This is directly from MCA website:

How to get Ford X-Plan PIN through MCA Partner Program!
As many of you know any MCA member can qualify for Ford's Xplan pricing. This info will not be published on the website but if you need the info send an email to admin@mustang.org along with your name and MCA number. We will validate that you are a member in good standing and then reply with the information you need to get your PIN.

Thanks again! I joined the Mustang Club of America and retrieved my PIN for the X-Plan pricing... so that's awesome. I appreciate your help!

Now, to go get the deal done. I think with X-Plan, the current discounts, and the brochure discount, I should be able to get the deal I want on a 2012.

Now, just need to decide what equipment I want and what I am willing to sacrifice.

Thanks a ton!

You will get your MCA card in a week or so. You'll also need that to "prove" your membership in the MCA. The dealer will need a copy of it to go with the X-plan paperwork.

to correct this, its Dealer invoice +4% + advertising fee + destination + dealer fees.

Directly from the X-plan program policies:

Pricing Formula
  • X-Plan is a pre-determined price based on dealer invoice or A-Plan price depending on brand. The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice.
Ford
Dealer Invoice - (0.4% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee
