Did he prep this car in any way? Empty the tank, remove weight, change tires? This is crazy that a stock auto GT is running faster times than most of the new GT500s I have seen on the track! This car is a freak!

prep
no prep. I drive to the track, cool down for about 20 minutes and race. No weight removal ,dont even check tire pressure

Man, that's awesome, I only managed 13flat @113mph with cai/exhaust and the spare left at home!
People have told me not to fret over not breaking into the 12's, due to the track's minimal preping for their once every 2 or so months street legal events but whatever I'll blame the driver. lol

Thats normal for the 5.0 autos. I know of a red conv auto at maple grove (his name is Brian) and his car runs 12.2 also. Tune and cai is all it has. heavy conv too. John is another local guy with a kona 5.0 coupe auto and at atco he ran a 12.3 dead stock with NOTHING done to it..

A friend of mine has an '11 GT automatic that she bought to drag race. With just a canned tune & drag radials, she ran as quick as 12.29 and as fast as 115 in the 1/4 mile, but is averaging 12.30's @ 114 most runs.

If the GT is that fast what are people getting out of stock 2011 GT500s? All the ones I have seen in person have been at the 12.4-12.7 range!?! Maybe I should save $15,000 and buy a GT instead of the GT500!

Needs to be more Astony
Remember, no one goes bragging on the internet of slow times, so don't be fooled by the select fast ones posting. The couple people I have talked to from our store that ran their 5.0s were in the low 13's.

By chance did you get that time slip? Sorry, I don't know any of this stuff. Doesn't it say like your 0-60 & 0-100 times? I hear that stuff more of my shows. Thanks!!

I like the idea of having something as fast as my Cobra with with more refinement. My brother bought a 2010 GT this summer and I'm in love with the car's comfort and refinement if I can gt that with 400+HP we are golden!
