Automatic 5.0 runs 12.57 bone stock!

http://www.modularfords.com/forums/s...0?goto=newpost

Had to share... **** automatics nice run though, 115mph again weird...
Finally got a Chance to go to the Track again there was a Ford vs Chevy event going on so had to go to that. After 6 passes of trying to figure a good way to launch on street tires above idle i was rewarded with a 12.571 @ 115.793!!

This was launching at 1100 rpm foot braking it with the sport mode traction control on, it would spin for just a split sec then go, the 12.571 was with a 1.949 60 foot. This was at Sacramento Raceway around 8 30pm outside temps where in the mid 70s. I will post my timeslip shortly and there is a lot of videos finally that will be going on you tube

Also finally people are seeing my car is a 100% stock i had at least 30 to 40 people at the track go through my whole car making sure lol and for once a GM guy said Very Impressed Ford did it right this time even on stock street tires.

Stock everything just learning what the car likes plus its got 2000 miles on it now so its pretty well broken in. Now time for some sticky tires and wait for SCT to release there software to the public then i can bet low 12s high 11s with just tuning and sticky tires

Auto's are no joke no more. Getting better times than the stick with only 3.15's. With all these low tq dyno runs you wonder what it really has if it did have a 1:1 gear.
Look what Evo did with their auto with just a few mods.

Gotta ask you.......... experiencing any engine "ping"? I've noticed it on mine(auto) at certain times (only had 93 in it so far with 1500 mi.)

Awesome, I'm in Sac for the week. Wish I had seen this run! And just for reference, I ran my 95k mile 2000 V6 Auto with headers and exhaust to a personal best of 15.89 @ 89mph there, so I think these mph readings are accurate. Just...weird. That new powertrain must be putting down some crazy power in the upper RPM range on the higher gears.

That is awesome.....and not to try and throw cold water on anything...but I sure would like to see more than car run that kind of number before I go and get real excited about it.

I think there's been at least 3 examples that have run similar times. Here's a couple of links:

- The first link is Evo's car, and it is modded with exhaust, CAI, and tune. Those mods *should* add ~40+ RWHP, which makes comparisons a bit irrelevant, IMHO.

- The second link points to earlier runs by the same car that is in this thread.

Again...not trying to sound negative, but so far, this is the only A6 that has gone mid 12s and the only one that has gone over 112 mph. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want this to end up being what we should expect to see from these cars, but the realist in me wants to see more data sets.

And I take nothing away from the owner of the car - seems like a stand-up guy, and I applaud him.

You are right we need more data from more auto's. American Muscle ran 13 flat with their auto just the way it came from the factory. No messing with the tire inflation or nothing. I know my tires were at 36psi when i got the car.
Going to be interesting to see what they get with a tune and slicks.

That's cool ...didn't take your comment as negative. As an owner of a 2011 Mustang GT A6 who knows how his A6 feels compared to prior Mustangs he's owned, I won't be surprised when we see others run in the high 12's. But I don't have any hard facts to back that up myself.

As for comparisons with EVO, on May 4 11:28AM central, Evo posted on their Facebook page they ran 12.04 117MPH with their M6 Mustang with mods (exhaust, tune, ET streets, suspension, K&N) similar to the ones they've recently done on their A6 car that ran 11.98 117MPH.

It's interesting that the A6 runs so quick and fast with a 3:15 axle. I know the auto's first gear is ultra low compared to the M6 but the other gears are a bit higher than the M6. The A6 is putting some serious horspower down to the ground through that 3:15.

This is truly an exciting time to be a Mustang owner and fan.

I'd need paddle shifters and a sports mode to keep it in gear without immediately upshifting.

American Muscles' (& Bama) stock 5.0 Auto ran 13.034 at 109mph and 13.022 at 110mph... So a lot depends on conditions and how well the tires hook... like anything else.

Who says they did not leave a little still in it so when they mod it and it runs low 12's or high 11's it looks better for them.

The car is a blast! Great acceleration, 6-speed auto transmission is extremely responsive, shifts quickly, and the car handles great! Unlike my 5-speed manual 2010 Mustang GT I traded in, it's also fun in heavy traffic!

You can really feel that ultra-low 1st gear (much lower than the manual transmission's first gear).

Much more fun than my 2010 Mustang GT manual!

And it's so much fun to be seen in. Everywhere I go, folks look at it and often come up to me to talk about the car and are impressed that it has a 6-speed automatic (as opposed to the old 5-speed or 4-speed AOD in the pre/2005-2010's).

nice et. i just ran my gt 10/1 at cecil county in md, also known to be a fast track. with 500 miles on it my best was a 12.687 at 112.27. 60ft was 1.984, 330 5.427 eighth was8.265@ 87.05 1`000ft 10.675. I dont doubt the et at all but your mph at the eighth and finish should have given you a lower et compared to mine with your 60 ft advantage. these cars sure are impressive though cause there was a 201o camaro ss auto and it wasgoing 1400 ohs at 102. this is my 14th mustang and probably my favorite.

I ran 9 seconds flat in a 1/8 mile run a few weeks ago. It was my first time ever drag racing and I didn't do anything to my car to prepare. I ran the stock street tires and all the mods in the my signature. I know I can probably get better times with more practice.
