5.0 .......Pa. to Fl. with PICS.

Had a FANTASTIC trip with my daughter back to Gainesville Fl.
Thursday, picked the car in Pa. from Jeff at Yocum Ford. Totally great buying experience with "no surprise paperwork"
Jeff even drove over a half hour to pick us up at the airport on his OWN time, in his beautiful Mustang.
Ok so with no nav. and an outdated atlas we take off and land in Hershey
Being a chocoholic , ended up staying at the Hershey Hotel the 1st. night and using a good portion of my (car) savings LOL.
Oh yeah- Car-TOO MUCH FUN !!! My texting teen didn't ask "are we there yet" ounce the whole trip
She even loved the exhaust more than the music!!- and also, I learned , her "need for speed". Of coarse , being a responsible adult and dad, I drove responsibly (well, sometimes).
The car was great through the mountains! The grade assist on the (auto trans.) seems to intuitively knows how fast you want to descend a steep long Mt. grade, and continually down shifts (up to 3500 RPM). Fantastic!
The car climbs effortlessly (of coarse). and wow- talk about TWISTY S !
And, I lost count of how many times I heard "nice car" at check-ins and gas stations.
Elevations: sea level- to 6050 ft. (67 degrees) High outside temp: 100-50 miles south of Atlanta. Lost- only twice
Miles -1,500 (the long way home
) Top speed--- not telling

Wow. The best 'just got my car' story by far!!!!
Family legend, you guys will be telling this story for years.
Hope it never gets old!!
****. Don't they have an emoticon that's tearing up? I need one.

That's the kind of story we like to read. Grats on that awesome wingless white 5.0. I'll be doing the same when picking mine up at Van Bortel Ford and meeting with Paul for the first time and then driving it back through beautiful upstate N-Y all the way to Montreal. Oh by the way, how was the "radiator bug" factor after driving it that many miles ? Thinking of protecting mine on the way back. They do mess up a rad big time on long trips.
