Attempted break-in
So on my way to work this morning, I noticed a light breeze coming through the top, stopped and found this:
At first I thought it was "only" vandalism, but looking at the cut again (all the way through all 3 layers), it looks too clean to be just vandalism. Guess the alarm scared them away before they could take anything. Good to know the interior sensors work!
Sorry for this random post, but I needed to vent a bit. Just wanted to enjoy the car a little more before it goes into storage end of the month, and now I can't even drive it because it's raining.
Any tips on how to seal it temporaily before I have the top replaced?

Thanks... Just looking for something to keep the rain out, as I still have to drive 200 miles on Saturday so I can meet my brother who will take it to the shop... Insurance will cover it, but it will be 400 out of my pocket anyway. :-(

They do this to all the Honda S2000s here but 100x worse because they rip it completely and steal the seats lol
I'd be too scared to own a convertible. I personally don't live in a bad neighborhood but I do have to go to Tampa and St. Petersburg which are full of vandalism sadly.
Best of luck though, I ranted a little myself.

Sorry to see this! Luckily nothing was stolen and everything this works...except for the top. This is the reason why I almost never lock my car; IMO if someone wants to get in, they will. Saves me the $$$ replacing the top should it happen.
Hopefully the douche sliced his hand after doing that to your top...

Wtf looks like a trap door for Jerry the mouse. Those jerks need an @ss whoppin. My heart would have sank and turned to pure rage if that happened to me. Sorry bro.

If you just need to keep rain out while waiting for the insurance claim to fix it, then good old duct tape.
Not sure how it would hurt the insurance claim, especially since a temporary fix is just to keep the weather out and not damage the interior
and warranty claim? How is this a warranty claim what did Ford do to cause the damage?

This should be covered by the comprehensive phase of your car insurance. May well be no deductible involved, depending on who you have your coverage with; since this claim is through no fault of yours, it shouldn't affect your premiums. That is my experience... YMMV. Good luck.

That sucks buddy. But like others have said, duct tape will work in a pinch. I'd go to OSH or similar and get some of the more fun variety to have a laugh out of it - they make sports teams, NASCAR style, bandaid-look, etc...
