Anyone want a REALLY CHEAP '10 base GT?

A dealer in Texas has a new candy red 2010 Mustang GT base car for sale for $20,999.

Kicker is that as it was sitting on their lot near the highway, a 18 wheeler going by lost a wheel and it hit the car and did almost $15,000 damage. They completely repaired it but to buy the car you have to sign a statement that you know that it was damaged and repaired. It will still have the full factory warranty on it.

Now, if it was fixed right it should be okay, but I bought a car once that I didn't know had been wrecked and it hadn't been fixed right, never did drive like it should.

But, this is the lowest price so far for a new 2010 GT...

Dosen't say where it was hit, I would imagine it was a front or front side hit.

Georgetown TX, near Austin.

Shoot, Georgetown is 3-1/2 hours from here. If it wasn't that far away I'd go take a closer look but I can't be adding the miles to my car before the trade...

Wheel and tire from a 18 wheeler is pretty heavy and especially if it was a set of duals off the rear or trailer and if the truck was at highway speed that is a huge amount of force slamming into a car.

And new cars cost a lot to repair body damage.

It must have hit right in the middle of the driver side to cause that much damage.

That's a steal? A car that had $15k of damage? Sounds like a ripoff. How about $20k for a 15,000 mile 04 Cobra instead with no damage. That's a steal.

I'm guessing a lot of sheet metal had to be replaced ... including the roof .... for it to cost $15K to repair it ...

i would want to see the pics of the damage.. esp if they are advertising a clear title.
jmo.

i know you can have 15k worth of cosmetic damage easliy, i did 12k to my 95 ( got spun around in a snow storm hit front and rear bumpers, fender, 1/4panel and door, not to mention, 2 scuffed rims ), in spring 96..body was repaired by ford body shop. ( mngr was a friend) car looked like it was out of the showroom when i got it back.

i think you could find those for less than 24 since they are like 29 sticker.

anyeone else think you buy a base gt for 24 before paying 21 for a screwd up one.

I wouldn't buy it myself, too afraid of a car with that much damage. Might be okay, might not.

So far the least expensive '10 base GT I have found is right at $25K and the car in question is on an auction so it could be had for less so long as someone doesn't get stupid on the bidding.

Or, you may be able to call that dealer and offer less than their buy it now price and they may take it and end the auction...

That might buy it.

Someone could buy it and go around bragging about the great deal he got, nobody but us would know the difference...
