Went through 3 DOAs in my 91 LX, never again until my knees are absolutely blown out will I own an automatic equipped vehicle.

lol...I had the opposite experience. In the 16 years that I've been driving, I had about a 3 year span where I had an automatic explorer. I got so bored with the auto and couldn't wait to get the heck out of it. I'll never buy an automatic again. I learned to drive a field truck when I was 14 which was a 5 speed, and have never looked back. I'll always own manuals.

call around to some junk yards and see if they have what your looking for. Then I would think it would be around a grand for a shop to do the swap for you. <---Just guessing
