Anyone have problems getting their 2011 GT to start/crank once in a while?

About once every 1-2 weeks, when I turn the key to my Mustang, the engine keeps cranking and making noise like it's just about to start but it never does. I've let it crank about 10 times before I got scared and turned back the key. It will usually keep doing this until I take out the key completely.

I've googled and found out a few people at AFM had this problem too but no solutions. I've taken it to the dealer (and so have other people) and the dealers said they haven't been able to replicate it.

Any ideas/knowledge to go around?

There have been a few discussions about it on the forum already. Here's one where I posted on Engine Turnover Problem. I've actually had this happen to me a few times and even went to the dealer to have it checked out with no success. My car was built in 4/2010 if it's a problem that is only occuring with earlier builts.

Has happened to me a few times when I first got the mustang. Hasn't happened in months. I think it just fixes itself. Read where this has happened to a few others and fixed itself.
I was frustrated when it would happen in front of people, new car and having problems starting...YUCK. But like i said, i think it will fix itself.

There has been other threads on here regarding this same problem. Sounds like the fix is to let the needles sweep and everything cycle before you turn the key. Check this thread, there's a good discussion on the issue..

Mine has done this now, 3 times in the 4.5 months I've owned it. I never hold the key anyway, I just tap it and let it "autostart"

since it went away the very next time i tried I never thought to take it to the dealership for it.

During the last couple of weeks, I've been doing this as well = flipping it to the start position and releasing immediately instead of holding it there like a normal starter. Ever since I've done it this way, the issue seems to have fixed it self (so far).

Mine only does that if I stall it... Most of the time, I turn the key to position 2, let the car prime the fuel, and start it up...

waiting for the guages to "sweep".. just gives the fuel pump time to prime the injectors..

its the fuel pressure more than the computer..
