This something new??? Who has this in their car? Is this a microphone or a speaker??

 

I have that in my 2014 GT. I think it was part of the Reverse Sensing System & Security option. Neither a speaker or a mic in my case.

 

oh .. is that the reverse sensor beeper?

Thanks .. I was hoping Ford moved and improved the Sync Microphone so I was gonna retrofit if that is what it was. My reverse beeper is in driver kick panel.

 

I think ford did move the sync mic for the MY 13 or 14. I believe my buddy's 14 has it in there.

 

You are correct. I have SYNC and the microphone is located there. I also have the 2014 OEM Wiring Diagram manual for my 2014 and it shows the mic is located in there as well.

 

If you have the security system, I think the motion sensor is in this pod too. I had mine down to put some Raxion LEDs in and i think I saw a mic in there.

I just upgraded my 2012 to one of these and it is a mic and it does a great job I would do it if you can get them cheap.

 

You have security sensors ?

 

My 13 has the two security motion sensors on the corners of the dome light pod. The microphone for SYNC was moved from the rear view mirror to the dome light pod for most 13s and all 14s. I know the mirrors still have the mic in them, but they are not active. The speaker (or whatever makes the beeping sound) for the rear sensing system (parking aide) is somewhere in the driver's side under the dash. It is not in the dome light pod.

 

Thanks .. there are a few of these on eBay .. but they don't have the security sensors which I need. I can tell the all of the mounting points and screw holes are there to swap my sensors over .. but I cannot tell if the non-security dome light has the required cutouts in the corners for the sensors so I can do the swap.

 

Can somebody that has this in their non-security car take a pic of the corners to see if there are holes?

 

Dan there are no holes the for the sensor (I know what your talking about my 06 has them) but the one on my 2013 console does not.
