No thanks. Never understood the hype over these tunes.
I think that's kind of an extreme example...Kinda like buying a Roush exhaust and being a poser for it not really being a Roush. But that being said...I love a good lopey cam as much as the next guy, but I think these tunes sound like ****.

I already have Steeds tunes (89 & 93) will the cam tune work with the other tune?

So in short, at idle the tach should stay steady

So someone with an aftermarket Roush exhaust is posing and claiming to have a Roush?!!?! If anything, that is a VERY extreme example. Are those with GT500 mufflers posing to have Shelby's?

I never understood this. It isn't like the tune is playing a tape of "cam sounds" through a loud speaker or something like that. A "ghost cam" tune takes the cams that are in the engine and modifies their duration, overlap, etc paramaters to give it a lopey "cam" sound at idle. The tune itself is, in fact, a performance tune just like Steeda's other tunes; the only difference is the sound it makes at idle.

Axleback exhaust systems do very little in terms of enhancing performance (I'm not referring to full exhaust systems). They primarily exist solely for sound, just like the "ghost cam" tunes. Are those running axleback exhaust systems posers, too?

That's exactly my point. The example I gave was quite a reach...as is saying someone's a poser for having the tune as opposed to really getting cams.

The cam idle tune is its own, complete, separate tune

Thanks

I like the sound, but what concerns me the most is will it harm the engine in the long run?

So what's the word on this tune and long term use with cats? I love the Lund tune, but my current catted H pipe does not (nor does the ECU and the CEL's it can cause if used for more than 5 minutes).

Like any custom tune, it is custom written to what you have, so if you tell us you have a Steeda CAI we'll make the tune work with that. If you have an Airaid, we would tune it for that.

Just make sure we know everything relevant that we would need to know to make the tune, just like any normal custom tune would require.

We have not seen any issues with stock cats. Only one of the test cars had high flow cats on a long tube setup and that car has no issues.

Hey Guys,

Here is another video of the tune, better quality. This car is a bone stock 2012 that we just threw the tune in to show the idle. I think you can hear it better than our other video even though the exhaust is stock.

We are working on a video with cam idle on a car with exhaust, its just the car and the video camera are not in the same spot right now.

Thanks

My Roush exhaust is for sale, and so is my steeda CAI, since they have steeda production cars now. I don't want to be a posing as if I had a Roush or steeda.

I guess I will have to make a homemade exhaust lol

The Boss does it via Trackey through Ford. The Ghost Cam tune is done through aftermarket tunes, but has the same effect.
