ambient cup holder light
Hi. The ambient light in the cup holder has gone out in my 2011 Ford mustang gt 5.0. No luck finding a YouTube video on replacement of bulb,if that is the problem (no other lighting issues). Anyone ever had this issue? Is it pretty easy to replace the bulb? I could bring it to the dealer but I'm sure they would keep it for troubleshooting. I'd rather do it myself if it's only the bulb.
Thanks

Check the fuse. I'm not sure which one it is but the Owners Manual will tell you. If the fuse is okay, then bring it to the dealer. It's an LED unit (looking at my 13 it's either 2 bulbs or a small light strip) but if it's burned out and it's not related to the fuse, then it will likely be an issue (wiring, resistors, etc) that can only be handled by the dealership.

I don't know where the sticky went but here's the service manual for the 2011:

I believe this will describe how to get under the console to check the connectors:
http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=1080&viewfi...0-%20Floor.pdf
If it's not a fuse or connector problem, it gets tricky to fix on your own.

Since it is under warranty still having the dealership take care of this. Very strange.... They told me that the entire console will need to be replaced.....so the part has been ordered.
