This thread reminds me of an old quote:

Hey glad you got the car of your dreams though! Mine isn't a mustang, but I will be able to afford it down the road and it will sure as heck be a weekend-only car!

I just turned 20 and I can afford it no problem, no help from anyone either, it's called saving and knowing how to budget everything and managing your every penny! Of course there are always the kids with mommys and daddys that buy em their cars but they won't value the car nearly as much as one who paid it off themselves.
If I wasn't a commuter a v8 standard would be fun, but sitting in stop and go traffic kills the left leg if you know what I mean.

My motto was always, have the most expensive house you can afford and the cheapest car. I finally got my dream house two years ago and was able to save enough for the dream car too. Never could have done that in my 20's. I always wanted a 1967 project car and now realize that I am much too busy to complete the project so the new retro styling makes a 2013 Mustang very appealing.

When I was 20 I had a 1974 Pontiac Firebird. I paid $800 for that rust bucket and had tons of fun in it.

So if a Mustang isn't your dream car, what is?

Exactly.

I really don't understand the purpose of threads like this. Let me first make the point of, I have never bashed the v6 nor will I ever. I am a car guy first and foremost... But of course we all love different cars. I love my v8. Period. No need to go into why. But you don't see me posting a thread saying "I love my v8....who else is happy you didn't get a v6". ?????

Anyways...

Everybody buys the car they have for a reason. I will always recommend getting the GT but gas mileage and insurance is a big deal to many and it's a good reason to go with a sixer.

Why don't you just say what you're thinking, that V6's are not Mustangs, they're pintos.

Not to further stir the pot here, but all the fastest built GT's are automatic. The stock automatic can handle ridiculous amounts of power. I don't plan on going FI so I'll probably get a standard, but I couldn't talk bad about an auto. Like I said, anyone who is passionate and humble about their car is okay in my book.

Gee "mopar?". What I'm doing with my life for real is owning a 2012 GT Premium. I have kid your age wash and wax it every week. It happens to have an automatic transmission because I'm living a real life. Issues? I think not.

Had a whole post but it got erased.

Whatever anyway with the higher resale of the GT and the gas cost only $60 bucks higher annually on a GT that drives 10,000 Miles per year. When I sell at 5 years old it will have cost me around 4k more to own the GT vs the v6 including the extra gas. Worth it? Ummmmmmm YA

Nothing wrong with the v6 though.

Just wish they would charge by the pound. I'll take the skinny one for a change.

I know you're not taking you're normal poundage, because you'd have to trade in your cobra.

This is actually informative. You seem to bet all bunched up if GT/5.0 folks talk bad about your V6, but yet here you are bashing automatic tranny owners.

Kettle meet pot.

Stopped reading at fastest. I've mentioned SEVERAL times that I don't care for that.

Fun > fast

I live in the Florida Suburbs, we don't have bad traffic here so "stop and go" isn't an issue here at all either to those who mentioned Auto > manual.

A sports card shouldn't be an automatic yet some will say a sports car shouldn't be a v6 haha but look at all the tuners"ricers" and they're all 4 bangers and sixxers.

I don't really get the point of bashing " even though I bash the automatic tranny yes haha " but you can still state your opinion on what you like

To the v8 guys, congrats that you're happy buy dont go gloating around thinking you're the best, you are the fastest yeah but your doucheness makes you worse than a 4 cyl honda owner who thinks they can beat a gt500

Well when I was a way younger ( middle school ) I always wanted a twin turbo 97 supra but obviously things change and I don't want anything to do with Japanese cars, my REALISTIC dream car now is an early 2000s Viper SRT10, but my real dream car is a ford GT

Confused on these, so everyone with a V8 is a douch? And so is everyone with a 4 cyl? Good thing you picked a 6 then that must mean your awesome by default

Last time I check fast equaled fun, your comments make you sound like your a jealous little kid.

Oh and an automatic is more fun than a manual. I checked the rule book rule book of fun and am 100% correct on that
