All 2011 Mustangs on hold
I could understand a supply problem with parts causing the line to stop moving but not those cars that are completed sitting on the lot. They are sitting there completed ready for shipment and I gaurantee you there is nothing wrong with the completed cars. Do you really think those cars with stickers in the window all have a problem that needs to be rectified?
Usually when a car comes down the line and there is a problem it is inserted into a "fix" line that takes care of the specific repair. The cars on that lot have passed the final quality control and are awaiting shipment. IMHO Ford is delaying shipment because they need more 2010's to be gone before these hit the dealers lots, thats also why stock orders are going out first before any retail orders so they can control the amount of cars released to any given market at any given time.
We are patiently waiting on our 2011 GT as well and would like to know more but there is nothing we can do about it and will be pleasantly suprised when the phone call comes letting us know its ready to be picked up.
Anyone ever think about touring the plant? Is that even possible?

Whats it going to hurt to say?

So why all the cloak and dagger stuff surrounding why they are on hold? Why not spill the beans and let everyone know whats going on? Also if someone is going to the trouble of taking pictures at the lot why not use a decent camera with a good lense? LOL

Clear now?
The problem that you seem to be missing is that if anybody here in the know spills the beans, that could cause people in FoMoCo to lose their jobs. That, in turn, causes people in the know to be left out of the loop because they couldn't keep their gums from flapping.

I'm really not that worried about it, I just find it funny.
I'll just pick up the phone and call my buddy Geronimo who is in charge of the niche line and see what he has to say.
Carry on, its very entertaining, I especially like the off the wall speculations as to why this is happening.. blinker fluid?.. LOL

So what's the count up to now? How many people have already said that the people "in the know" really don't know what's going on? You'd be surprised at how much they actually know. Everything they have said so far has been accurate.

I totally understand why unofficial spokemen here for FoMoCo don't want to put their jobs at risk more than they already have.
What I don't understand is the sloppy execution on official communication. The plant is sending dates and status down to the dealer and customer service and then when those dates are missed (at least in my case), there is no revised date given. The dealers, reps, and customer service are given zero information.
If it's a minor thing, what's the big deal? -- call it. Everybody understands there are thousands of pieces from 100's of suppliers, sometimes things need 'adjustment'.
At some point though Ford will have to say something publically. Or risk losing orders with people like me that have had theirs built for 3 weeks and still have no idea when it will ship. I'm not saying that I will cancel, but a certain amount probably will at some point. I'd rather they be honest and say what the hold up is then just have the rep keep telling me "its on its way" when i know it isn't.
lol @ "they will lose their jobs ". There are probably 500 people at AAI who know why the cars are there and it would be impossible to track. The people here act like this is national security or something. Enjoying the show. Here, I'll play:
Ok guys, they are on hold. I know why, but I can't say. My mole may get killed by the Ford KGB. I'll give you a hint though: They are on hold for a reason.
OoOooooO!!!
