$700 for GT500 spoiler (painted/installed)!!

Just called my local dealer and I was quoted $700 for an OEM GT500 Spoiler...$300 for the spoiler and $400 for paint and install!!!!! They told me about drilling extra holes and then treating the metal so it won't rust, etc... Am I out of line thinkng this is excessive for a spolier? I know 3D Carbon makes a replica nearly $400.00 cheaper. What would a shop charge to install a spoiler?

Get a quote from another shop. Maybe it's the going rate in your area.

LMAO..."Treating the metal" = dab of silicone or some paint on any exposed surface.

I have good news and bad news. Good news is I am paying the same amount with my dealer. Bad news is we are both getting ripped off from a value perspective.

you would all be better off getting spoiler delete option...

added weight
does it really help cars handling (everyone going to take these cars to autobahn?)
makes back look smaller without
these are cars not birds!

ok have at me :-)

Some people are more concerned about appearance than performance. Personally its spoiler delete for me all the way.

Painted GT500 spoiler is cheap online, just get it and install it yourself. Even if you have to drill the holes it isn't that hard and any small goof you make will be covered by the spoiler.

OEM Shelby spoiler $276 delivered to your door

Local body shop might charge you $150 to paint and install and it will probably match better.

Edit. If it has a Spoiler on it now, it uses the same holes.

^That's funny right there. $700 is absolutely excessive. I got mine from the spoiler store (for $89.00 a few yrs back), the paint matched perfectly. I drilled two additional holes, protected them with touch-up paint, and silicone to prevent leakage. All for under $150.00. BTW, I am by no means mechanically incline.
