5.0s bad traction?
I really don't understand the "wheel-hop issue". To me its like complaining that the wheels spin too much. I can launch hard and the wheels stick beautifully.
If you're getting wheel-hop, you arent launching properly. I do have the brembo suspension with the sticky p-zero's tho.

I admit my statment was a little too general, but i believe my point will get across.
Semi-related: Was the argument of having different LCA's on the brembo pkg ever settled? Some say they're the same, just painted etc. Could this have an impact on some experiencing wheelhop vs others that are not?

Well, traction is fine as long as you leave traction and stability control on. With those off, traction of course can be improved, or you can simply lessen the power with a tune. Maybe even restrict it to 4,000 rpm's.

To maximize traction, consider Nitto NT-05's or the like on the rear. Those can shave a half second off the 1/4 mile, which is a good indicator that traction is limited to a point. But I wouldn't say traction is bad by any stretch.

Yes, they wheel-hop like crazy. In the circle track mags, they call it axle- tramp.
Whatever you call it, I'm sick of listening to my motor knock and the wheel-hop. As soon as I can, I'm trading this POS off.
And I'd like to jam some magazine articles up some auto reporter's fecal chute that gave this piece of dung such glowing reviews. Oh yeah, they get paid for that.

All we are saying (or at least all I'm saying) is that the cars are under-tired. It's common sense that we modulate throttle on our own for maximum possible traction... but if we actually had some tire under the car it'd be a whole lot better!

And what times have you been running? The Brembo cars definitely hop a good bit. Especially if it's cool out. Lowering the car seems to resolve the problem completely.

Was, at first upset by that comment. But now, I see, or believe, it was made to instill a little conjecture here....thus the thread comes alive.
OEM tires on a GT or better, are for breaking it in. PERIOD. Down here I sure don't need, nor want, All Season tires. So for me they are are for experimenting. Burn em up. Sooner they're gone the better, but to waste good mod money for an early change aint happening here. So, drop the air pressure out back, and drop the clutch. Then get your Nitto's. :-) (after your, tune, suspension, and other goodies of course)

Race Red, manual, 3:73s, Brembo, 5,000 miles, 400A. Steeda CAI and tuner (not installed), GT500 mufflers. It has not been run hard excessively.
It has the cold engine 'rattle', but hey.......that's normal, right?
I've decided not to trade it off..............it's going on Craigslist today. But all you 5.0 lovers on here have first dibs.
