5.0 Supercharger fans, check this out...

If this has been posted before then here it is again.

It's not in the online FRPP catalog yet.

Ford racing, new crate motor, 5.0 motor for superchargers.

All forged, Mahle 9.5:1 pistons and Manley rods.

Lets see what 20 psi of boost can do for this...:bigthumbsup

Yes, or you could...

Take the original 5.0 out and pack it away then drop this one in and beat the hell out of it and when you get ready to swap to a new car then drop that original low mile motor back in and sell the car.

Or, get this motor and sell your original to some fox body guy to drop in his car.

Or, get this motor buy a cheap fox body with no motor and drop the stock one in.

Fixed what you should do

How strong is this motor? How much power can it handle?

Mahle pistions and Manley H-Beam rods with a forged crank and boss bearings? Let's just put it this way, the #8 cylinder issue will be a thing of the past with this motor. It will take pretty much anything you can throw at it.

Would I need any other parts? Is this stronger then a 302 short block from Brenspeed?

If you don't correct the issue that is causing the #8 failures this motor is as vulnerable as the stocker to that problem.

Thus motor would handle a ton of boost or nitrous if making big power was your objective.

A short block is just that, a block. A Long Block comes with a crank, rods and pistons already installed.

This crate motor is complete. For your needs get the NA version of the motor, has the same strength but it keeps the 11:1 compression pistons so you can keep your current power level without supercharging your car.

Bang for the buck wise this definitely seems like the best deal, will let you sell off your old heads etc.. off your old motor to recoup some of the expense.

A "short block" is a block, crank, rods and pistons all assembled, a "long block" is a short block with heads and timing parts installed.

To install this crate motor in your car you would need nothing else except for a custom tune to adjust for the lower compression ratio, or boost of course when you add that.

The 302 short block from Brenspeed is a 3V 4.6 stroker unless they have added some new one and would not be compatible with your heads and such so it wouldn't work in your car.

Thanks guys,

What are your thoughts on this forged rotating assembly? Would this solve the 8 issue? MMR Street Mod 1000 Rotating Assembly for 2011/2012 5.0

The cylinder 8 problem is not piston related so changing to forged pistons doesn't do anything to fix the problem. The forged pistons will stand up to more abuse so it would take more to screw it up but that's not the same as fixing the problem.
