I've got a question about the tune from Steeda, or anyone else, really. With the factory tune, you can use whatever octane gas you want. Am I correct that with a custom tune you are obligated to use just one grade of gasoline?
While we dont eliminate the octane sensing feature of the vehicle, our all out 93 octane tune will not be safe on 87 octane. The factory system cant take enough timing out for that. It will run fine on 91 octane as the computer can easily compensate for that.
We can make a custom tune that will allow you to run 87 octane, but the power gains will naturally be noticeably reduced.

So if a person got an 87 octane compatible custom tune, it would still give you more punch if you filled up with 91 octane, just not as much as a tune that was programmed exclusively for 91-93. And it would be somewhat more powerful than the factory tune with the same gas. Do I understand that correctly? Thanks.
Like Gus said, the custom tune comes with three octane settings for you to choose from. I choose the 93 octane tune for my car, even though 94 octane gaz is available here through Petro-Canada.

Maybe Gus can chime in on this one.
