5.0 in Hawaii 50

From what I've read it's not a 5.0, but a V6 with 5.0 badges and dubbed sound. http://www.mustangblog.com/blog/1045...5-0-or-does-it

And just because it's on the internet doesn't make it so.
And, it really doesn't make any difference, you can't tell by looking since they haven't shown the motor.
And it would make more sense that if they couldn't get a real 5.0 in time for the show that they would use a re-badged 2010 4.6, no bumper cover would have to be changed.

Most of those shows have some token hot girl. NCIS has Abby, CSI Miami has two or three hot women, The Mentalist has Amanda Righetti. They're a dime a dozen. Granted they are nice to look at, but the show is still lame and predictable. I don't see it making it past 1 or 2 seasons. It's just like everything else, only in Hawaii, big deal.

But you're right about every show has a hot woman. But they're not a dime a dozen, they cost about half of what you own. Ask Tiger.

Better be a Base car as he answered his cell phone a dozen times or so while driving like a mad-man with no seat belts on ... oh wait, that ok as he was only "pretending to drive on a blue screen".
They should be helping promote the SYNC Blue-Tooth hands-free cell phone useage on these shows.

I was hoping for a lot more involvement of the 5.0 in the show.
Only saw the base interior when he kept using his phone (as mentioned above) and they never put it into a "fast car chase" situation.
Disappointing.

As I recall, the Mustang being put in was a bit last minute. Someone just happened to notice the hype on the 5.0 and said "Cool!" and none could resist the not-so-subtle reference to the title. Guess from the title the car is a bit of a red herring with regards to the plot, as just about anything could have suited for the scenes they had. None else would have been as cool though.
And yeah, it's a 2010 V6 I believe, there weren't any 5.0s in Hawaii when they started shooting.

First, I enjoyed the show. Felt production an casting was superior to many, though not all cop shows. Second, the base interior was a total let down. I can't believe with all of the hype and product placement that Ford has done with the sync, that they missed the opportunity to have it on an almost sure fire hit with 5-0 as part of the title.
