Can't image how you could feel a difference of 10lbs. of torque loss.

How do you know it was 10 ft-lbs? You didn't drive my car, it was a pig down low. I got a different tune and now the torque loss isn't noticeable.

Good job trying to act like you know something though...

You numbers will vary based on the type of dyno obviously, they all read different.

Gus - why does the dyno chart above from Steeda for the Boss Intake + Tune + CAI show a stock baseline comparative ending at 6200 rpm?

When you look at the dyno chart for the CAI + Tune, the stock dyno run comparative ends at 6800 rpm.

Not showing a dyno pull that is more apples to apples is a little misleading. I would like Steeda to show one dyno chart showing the following, all ending at their respective tune/engine redline:

1 - Stock Everything
2 - CAI + Tune
3 - CAI + Tune + Boss Intake

If you can get Steeda to show a better comparative, I might just pony up for a Steeda Tune + Boss Intake.

I would love to drive your car!

I was just joking man. Most people when they get a k&n filter swear that they can feel the power!

But back to the point of I would really like to drive your car!

LOL @ the k&n thing!! I think it's a difference in work/hours put in by the two different tuners. I know the VCT can be used to take out most of the torque loss down low, I just don't think all tuners put the time in to do it. At least not for mail order tunes, and many of the numbers posted online associated with Boss manifolds are custom dyno tunes...which hopefully if I sell a certain part..cough cough...I can buy my last mod (for this year)...cough cough...and get a legit dyno tune...COUGH. COUGH.

lol

And judging by your name...and my living in Ohio....I'm gonna say you can drive my car anytime you want to come here and drive it!!

Better comparative is a relative term. It shuts down at 6200 because you hit the speed limiter with the stock tune in 5th and the car shuts down. Only way around that is with a tune on the stock setup and then it would not be "stock everything". So your better comparative request would require the car to no longer be "stock everything" in order to show those numbers. That doesnt work.

This is about what it would look like if we did that. These graphs are from 2 different cars on 2 different days so its not back to back. The "stock with tune" dyno pull is with a very early tune that was still in the tweaking stages so it wasnt making a lot of power over stock, but with the rev limiter removed you can get an idea of what you are looking for. The second number is cold air/Boss intake manifold/tune/stock exhaust.

This next dyno sheet is on the same car/same day. The car already had our cold air intake and tune, we then put the Boss manifold on and tuned it on the dyno the rest of the day til we got the final number. This is your CAI+Tune+Boss intake numbers you want to see.

Ok, I ordered a set of injector o-rings (16, 2 per) b/c when I get this all apart again, I want to replace what may be missing. Still having idle flux from about 525 RPM to 750 RPM (see graph). Ugh.

hmm so by looking at the last graph its pretty clear you have to rev the hell out of your car to benefit from the boss manifold. 3k-5.5k you actually loose HP too??

Also, what is the speed limited to on our cars? Was the one that shut down at 6,100 a 3.73 car?

Why do people always sound surprised you have to rev the hell out of a small displacement DOHC V8 with a short runner intake manifold to make power?

Srsly?

Probably because those ppl don't know how the internals of an engine work. And what DOHC really means...

Not surprised you have to rev the hell out of it to see the benefits more surprised with how much of the time your hp/tq is actually less than with the CAI & tune. I thought it was just a breif mid band tq loss. This mod certainly isn't for "most" Mustang owners . . . my dads 5.0 has only seen redline when I've driven it, mine on the other hand is every time I have the opportunity.

BTW I'm blown away with the results up top!!! I'd love to drive one with this . . . well maybe not because then I'd be a grand poorer!

Its intoxicating to have a car pull hard up top like a Boss intake car does. Once you drive one you want to do it again..... Take it from someone who has

A grand? I bought the Boss mani and all parts needed for 400 bucks brand new and installed it myself in about an hour and a half.

Oh and I forgot to mention I even figured out how to install the manifold without disconnecting the fuel line from the rail.
