New vs New, if you could get a 10' for $10k less than an 11' I'd probably get the 10'. Install a terminator rotating assembly except with Mahle pistons and throw 20 PSI at it with the $10k savings.

Seriously eyeballin the 2014

4.6 tried & true (no issues, no worries) 5-speed Proven tranny (no hassles, no heartaches). That was a big plus for my decision to buy a '10 w/ track pak... no bugs to kill. Believe me I struggled with the decision, all year long. The BIG savings to the tune of 7k below sticker I just couldn't pass up. The best part of this story is that right around the corner, you can bet I'll be seriously eyeballin the 2014. Then I'll have me a car guys car,... lol

Somebody posted a link to this dealership a while back. Some good deals to be had. They have a couple of track packs for 27-28000ish. Not too shabby.

DITTO

Those "no haggle" internet prices are negotiable. Make them an offer... My offer was $1000 below posted price. Maybe you can do better, good luck! Got in and out of the dealer in a little over an hour. Lifetime engine, lifetime oil, lifetime tire rotation, lifetime insp, lifetime car wash, ... Real Nice dealership if you can take advantage of it.

Yeah, if it were a Republican Party, you'd have to build your own Mustang, by hand from raw materials, as an assertion of rugged individualism.

Seriously though, I would imagine some serious haggling could be done on the '10s.

for me i went for the 2010 becuase i loved the interior redesign and all the new tech items. ya it would have been cool to have the more powerful engine, and 6 speed (prolly what i wish for most on the highway) but my car is never going to be raced, plus now i can put in one more year of payments building equity to trade for the full redesign in the 2014 model yr. oh and only mustang fans and select car guy/gals are going to know the difference. I havent actually seen another 2010 GT in my commute and out and around boston so its also cool having a rare car in the area too many bmw/audi/mb/infinti where i live! 315 hp 325lb ft is more than a 335i for less paper and i get the limited slip to help handle the winter. ever tried idrive? sync/nav is so much better. i park next to a prius, which car gets the looks on start up. how could i have waited a year for this much fun! waited a year for driving with the windows down and the radio off? how many other cars out there would you want to do that in. is the 2011 better, definitely but i am sure there will be a group of 2011 people wishing they waited for the boss in 2012 when that package is revealed. based on Ford's current roll it is probably going to be filthy.

note: if i was already a mustang owner in 2010 i would have waited for sure. but this being my first pony i wanted to jump right in.

I needed a car last March, if i hadn't bought a 2010 mustang i'd be driving something else and probably have to wait another 5-7 years before i could justify another 'mustang decision point'.

While camaros were out at the time, they were nowhere to be seen on the lots. Having now driven one, I much prefer the mustang (mainly the steering wheel and window visibility). The daily driving experience in a refined 2010 mustang interior is a HUGE improvement over the 2005-2009s.

Would i prefer the 2011 V6? Hell yes. But then again i had the only mustang in my end of the city for a good 3-6 months, and got people with whiplash looking at the new grabber blue. Its a special moment when you pull up at a bus stop, and 10 people watch you drive away (like watchinga tennis match!). For the daily driver its a great car... when we consider how often we have a chance to go 120km/hr or more, you realise that 300-400hp is a theoretical maximum that you'll get to use 1% of your driving time.

The 2010 GT and the 2011 GT are pretty much the same car in styling, interior, suspension, etc. If the difference in horsepower really bothers a 2010 owner that much, ANY of the supercharger kits on the market will bring the 2010 up to 2011 HP levels.

... Just about all of the the S/C Kits (except the M90 Roush) will far surpass the 2011 HP levels. I read somewhere that the standard Roush 2300 was making 510TQ at 3100 RPM ...

I think there are some significant suspension differences between the '10 and '11. However, if I were a '10 owner I'd be proud of my car and just enjoy the heck out of it. There is always somebody faster.

EDIT: Holy crap there were a lot of typos in my post lol. Trying to type fast at work will do that I guess lol.

Suspension

2010 Track Pak suspension has been carried over and included in the '11. STD STOCK ! What a deal ! That being the case, now tack on the new 5.0 engine & 6 speed tranny, like I said what a deal. (after doing the price increase, what, it's like an extra 1300 MSRP or something? not sure, but I know it's not toooo much... and a Waaaaaaaay bigger bang for the buck. Thank goodness I gotta steal @ the dealer and bought late or I'd be this guy right here --->

I don't think the TP suspension is that big a deal. Most of the cost of the TP were the Brembos, wheels and 3.73 gears.

MT: Further, the 2011 has retained the sporty, agile, and responsive sensations that we loved so much in the 2010 GT, and dialed them up a notch. Retuned springs and dampers, larger anti-roll bars, and the aforementioned electric power steering all contribute to improved dynamics.

AB: Not only is the front of the V8 much stiffer than its smaller, lighter sibling, but the entire car has been hardened by 15 percent compared to the 2010 model.
The 2011 Ford Mustang GT sports the very best solid rear axle in the world. We'd rather have the best solid axle than a mediocre multi-point rear. Hint, hint, Chevy. 'Nuff said.

CD: Last year, a 2010 Mustang beat a Camaro and a Challenger in a comparison test based largely on its handling merits, and the new model is even better. It turns sharply and holds a precise trajectory through a turn. Although the rear end remains a live axle, the body isn’t tossed off course by pitching pavement or camber changes. In matchups with the independently sprung Camaro, we’ve come away lauding Ford’s decision to stick with the live axle. [WHAT?? ]
The company has made it work, and if it saves weight and the customer money, so much the better.

J: The GT now has 12 percent more lateral stiffness thanks to a new Z-brace which enables Ford to fit stiffer springs and dampers without ruining the ride quality and larger sway bars front and rear without turning it into an understeering nightmare like the Camaro. Control arms from the GT500 keep the live rear axle from misbehaving. [thicker anti-sway bars with bushings now bolted to the bar to control its movement more effectively.]

Margin of error. That isn't a scientific test that will repeat that margin over and over.

TP didn't have Brembo brakes.

I wouldn't but when have you ever heard the rags loving on the Mustang's SRA? Not in previous years.

Sam Strano likes to occasionally dis on the 08/09 Bullitt's 'retuned suspension and dampers' but anyone that switched from a previous 05-09 GT notices the Bullitt's better handling. So I wouldn't underestimate the 'retuning' of the '11.

Wow. I thought it did. That's an expensive package then. I think most of the GT500 takeoff parts can be gotten fairly cheap on eBay to make your own track pack.
