5.0? fuhhhhh....

I think that just about sums up every 2010 owners reaction to reading reviews of the 2011's. I'm really happy with my '10 and knew about the 5.0 possibilities but couldn't wait another year, it was time for a new car, and there is always something "new" coming along anyways. But ****, be honest 2010 owners your gonna slump down in your seat filled with envy when you see a 5.0 on the road. My 4.6 is fast enough but you know I have never complained about a car being too fast. Sounds like it'll have power similar to a c6 'vette. As nice as my 4.6 is it sure doesn't pull like a c6 vette. ****.

I daily drove a fully auto crossed preped car (not very nice on the street) since October 09 (when the lease was up on my 08 GT/CS0 just to wait for the 5.0 (granted I knew it was for sure due to friends at Ford but still).

Dude, it's always gonna be like that. These cars are starting to get like computers. First the 05 stang, then the little upgrades, Sync, Updated Sync, More HP, Refreshed styling, new motor, etc.

In another few years we'll have a redesign probably with IRS and a HP bump. Then the 2011 guys will feel outdated. It's a great time to enjoy these cars.

I test drove a 2010 GT but it didn't feel like it would destroy my supercharged V6 so I waited. But, even though I've pre-ordered a 2011 GT/CS and I'm really excited, I still know 2014 with a new body shape and a re-worked 5.0 is right around the corner.

They appear to be one fast *****, however, I think my fuel economy with all the extra horsepower would go out the window fast in my case! I'd be leaving that car down a gear and stabbing at the gas pedal all the time around town.

As one of the other posters mentioned, just ENJOY it! (or supercharge it )

^^ totally agree.

over the past year I've enjoyed the 2010 knowing full well of the 2011. Meanwhile, everyone who settled on the 5.0 is waiting- granted it'll be worth it for them. But I was able to enjoy mine now. While everyone is geekin out over the wait, clinging to every new bit they hear about their order. And I can go hop into mine and drive. So no big deal to me.

And there's a far proven, vast aftermarket for the 4.6. If you want more power it's out there and readily attainable.

Not the end of the world.

true and there is something to be said for the last year for a major upgrade. my 98 gt vert was not the fastest by any means. but she was a blast to drive and took the beating i gave her daily with a smile and no problems.

I find the huge *** discount I got on my 2010 GT makes me smile almost as much as the sound of the engine when I hit the gas. The only thing I wish is that I was driving it right now.............but I'm at work.

I honestly couldn't beleive anyone in the know of the new 5.0 would have bought a 2010. The 2010 GT is a great car, but the 2011 is the car guys car.

Define a 'car guy'? Like what does that even mean.
It's numbers. And there's means to go out and beat them... As there is with any car.

Better call Ripley's.
Believe it.

This will be a great time to be buying a new Mustang GT!
Makes my old,but still new with 18,000 miles, 2001 Bullitt seem really slow, what with the V6 Stang running 13's at 102....stock!
Amazing performances from both the GT and 6-banger!
Now on retirement income,I can't afford any new Mustangs, but I picked a great time to build a 427 Dart for the 85 LX, to hang with the new ones!!
Great job Ford!!!

I'm actually happy with my 2010. I wanted the 1 year only Sunset Gold .. plus the 2010discounts + 0% Interest will let me afford a nice Roush or Saleen S/C in the near future and push 500HP. I do like the new CS front end and will be putting an order in for the front conversion parts next month.

If i have to expain you are prob not one of them, then i read your signiture and I know you aren't one when you have more appearence mods then performance mods.

to each his own.

yeah it may wind up costing 4k + for some if you combine the sticker hike and the lack of rebates for a while. Now for those that bought a 10 without any rebates when they first came out.......ouch.

well technically the 10 is the "car guys car" since it'll be easily modded. Sounds like FoMoCo used just about every trick up their sleeve to start with on the 5.0. I may be wrong but it may be awhile before there are many really worthwhile mods. If your the tinkering type then a 10 seems the better buy. Like I said I and many others knew about the 5.0 but couldn't wait, my lease was up and it was new car time. Oh well I'm still happy with my 10. Although it can't be modded....it's a lease. Doh!

Interesting you mention a C6 Vette.....I HAVE a C6 Vette....and I also have an '11 GT Premium vert on order. Nice to think I won't have to be giving up much, if any, in acceleration. I traded a '03 GT vert for the Vette. Always missed the sound of the Mustang, and also missed the back seat and larger trunk. The 5.0 finally convinced me I had to pull the trigger and go back to the Stang.

Using your logic isn't the GT500 the REAL car guys car? Why settle for a 2011 GT when you could have a 2011 GT500?

Why is that?

Cheaper price
Proven V8 engine with aftermarket support
Noticeable improvement in interior quality, feature content, and base suspension tuning

All sounds like valid reasons to buy a 2010 to me! Just like any major improvement in product, it's a matter of timing and when you want what you want.

I willingly chose a 2010 knowing the performance would be higher for both the V6 and V8 models for 2011. The GT I have now is a daily driver, and while everything looks great for the new engine, I wondered about the fuel economy for a 400+hp car on what would be a commuter car for me. Of course, the projected numbers look really good, but as is often said "your mileage may vary".

There is ALWAYS something faster, unless you own a Bugatti Veyron

of course 2010 guys are going to be offended. So what if I think you guys made the wrong choice. Just my opinion, I am not going to about it.

Enjoy the 2010.....Nothing wrong with that car. Got great looks, makes good power, and its got that classic V8 burble we love. Gotta be thankfull for what you got. I'm sure theres plenty of people out there who would love that car. I got a 2007 GT....No way I'm geeting rid of that car for a 2011. I might put a blower kit on it.......might not though. I hope the weather nice this weekend and I'm going to take here for a spin. I just installed the Hurst Billet shifter. Don't be fooled by the reviews of it on here. It's nice, quiet and shifts awesome.
