5.0 Engine in Ford Year End Savings Commercial?
I was watching the Cincinnati/Pittsburgh game and a Ford Year end clearance commercial came on. It featured Mike Rowe walking down the line of Ford vehicles saying something about them and when he got to the GT he said something like "this guy is getting goosebumps," and he started it up. It sounded waaaaayyy too beefy to be the 4.6 3v. If anyone catches the commercial turn it up and let me know what you think.

I saw it too, and thought it sounded pretty good too. Although I was also at the NHRA drag race in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and Ford had a huge vendor booth/setup. One part was a pair of dynojets set up with a pair of Mustang GT's on the rollers. It was a dyno challenge you could sign up to do and drive the cars on the dyno's and see which one wins a mock up 1/4 race. Anyway, I watched them do it and was thinking they sounded way too good to be stock. I looked at the pipes and they had Ford Racing exhaust on them to make them sound better...even though the literature all said they were bone stock GT's.
Good idea though, Ford, make your prize sound bada$$ instead of wussy.

I saw it as well. It made the loss not seem so bad... naaa, it was bad. I really wouldn't interpret too much into it. I think that the sound was accentuate to give credence to the goose bumps claim... It was probably a sound clip from a Roush w/ their O/R set-up. That's what it soulded like to me. definitely not an OEM exhaust w/4.6...

I wouldn't put it past Ford to sneak the new 5.0 into a 'Stang for a commercial. They seem to like throwing out those little hints.
As for the sound, they could just throw on a set of FRPP Stingers and a stock GT will sound much beefier.

I know they could, but I've heard my fair share of GT exhaust setups and none sound like the one they had in the commercial. I'm not saying that they couldn't have altered it, but it doesn't sound like the 4.6.

I saw the commercial and thought the exact same thing...
Sounded better then a stock GT 3v. Not that the 4.6 sounds bad, but this definitely sounded better.
But then again it is a commercial, so you know it's dubbed for sound. They could have laid any ambient noise in there they wanted too.

I love when sarcasm comes into play. But then again I shoud've known not everyone would see it as a hint, or something along those lines. All I'm saying is it sounds good, and if there is no computer added sounds, then it's more than likely the 5.0

How the hell do you guys know what the 5.0 sounds like?! It's a new engine!
Jeez, you guys are like vultures. Sure sounded like a **** 3v 4.6 to me. Little louder, but low revving and deep tone. Didn't sound like a high revving 4v screamer to me. You guys are like crackheads, looking for a fix from anywhere! Why would Ford do that. And until someone comes on here and tells me that was the new 5.0 in the commercial (which they won't because that would be retarded for Ford to do), I'm sticking by my opinion!

Last night I saw a commercial featuring a talking Gecko selling car insurance! I'm pretty sure it was real. What do you guys think? Can anyone else confirm?

Yeah not to sure about the 5.0L being in the commercial. A while back I noticed one of the new SHO commercials and how beefy the engine sound was coming from it. I have since heard an SHO in person and it sounds nothing like it does in the commercial.
I doubt they would use the new 5.0L in a 2010 year end commercial, false advertising.
