I Have No Life
The title says it is, but nowhere in the article does it.
The 5.0 is coming... but you might (more than likely) have to wait till 2011MY to get it. (which is release in 2010CY)

Adam, if there's one thing you need to realize, it's this. Take any magazine article that you come across, with a grain of salt. Because chances are most of them only speculate and assume what the automakers plans are for their upcoming models.
That being said, it's best to rely on the members of this website, in which some of them are either Ford insiders, or they know people who actually work for Ford.
As of right now, the current info regarding the 400HP 5.0L, is that it won't debut in the Mustang GT, until during the 2011 model year.
In the meantime, I hope this helps clear things up a bit.

Those rags often read what is reported here on TMS, BON, etc. then add in their own opinions & speculation to make an article.

You know something V-10. I really wouldn't put that past them at all. Because where else other than websites, such as TMS, BON, Stangnet ect. are they able to base and then add in their own opinions, and speculations upon.

so boomer when do you think it be out late 2010? it be a little late but its smart the 4.6 wont be selling because the camaro and challangers out and lose sells so when 2011 is coming up the mustang will be fresh and have a new motor and wont put a big dent in the wallet for ford

The 2011 is expected to arrive sometime during the summer of 2010. However there's also a possibility, there may be a 2010 Mach 1 coming in late/fall of 2009.
And if there is ? I'm quite certain, it will include some form of the new 400HP 5.0L
Although at this point, there is no confirmation either way, as of yet.

The 5.0 liter will be the same engine as the 4.6 with the bore and stroke adjusted slightly. It'll even have thecurrent 3 valve heads.
Ford has been making the engine for a few years now and selling it through FRPP to various racing teams and it already produces 400 hp stock from FRPP. Additionally, Saleen put it in last years Parnelli Jones commemorative edition Mustang and they're putting a supercharged version of it in this years H302. Check it here The 5.0 liter is already available and it's ready to go right now...no waiting necessary.
Also, don't hold your breath waiting for a Mach 1, Bullitt, etc that is based on the new body style. Ford (and GM and Chrysler too) use option packages like that to keep interests up in the current body style until a redesign can take place. After the redesign happens in 2010 the new body will sell all by itself for a few years at least.
I'd buy a 2009 Mach 1 though. Especially if it had IRS as one of it's unique features.

The bottom line is this: The 5.0L is a new 4V modular engine, that's based upon the 6.2L Hurricane engine, which will see F-150 truck duty only.
The new 5.0L version is also known as Coyote, which will also be replacing the current 4.6L when it debuts in the 2011 Mustang GT.
That being said, we rely on members of this website, in which several of them happen to be Ford insiders, whom are also very well known for their accuracy, and credibility.
I've mentioned this before, and I'll say it again. Take your magazine articles with a grain of salt !
