Hey everybody,
Total newb to the mustang scene here. Going to look at a 2014 V6 coupe with a M6. In the pictures it has a strut tower brace and black mirrors. It's what appears to be Deep Impact Blue. How do i know for sure if this car has the Performance Package option? I tried entering the VIN at Compnine and it says there is no info in the system. Is there a sticker/decal that lists the option codes that the car was built with, whats its location, and where is the sticker found? What is the Performance package option code number?
Failing that, what other things should be on the car to help identify it as a Performance Package optioned car?

In 2014 they also had an appearance package that came with Black Mirrors and Spoiler and color matched rear window louvers and Black 18" wheels. Performance Package had 255/40 19's on it with the wheels that are on mine in the Pics below.

 

Thanks for the reply. The pictures of the rims should help in visually identifying a car with 19 inch rims. This package was also available in '13 also .correct?

 

Yes, the Performance Package started in late 2011, the 2011-12 cars have different wheels on them and mine is a 2013 added on to the Mustang Club of America package.

 

Any advice on how to learn what packages included what? I had been chasing a 2011 CTS coupe with the top of the line performance package, M6 trans, 19 inch rims summer tires, big brakes ect ect 23k miles but after 6 months of trying to convince the owner to sell it. Ive come to the conclusion he doesnt really want to sell it. So... Now i'm looking for a performance Mustang and GM's VINs decoded a lot easier i'm finding out.

 

There is nothing in the VIN saying it is a Performance Package. If it is a Manual Trans it has the Engine cover, all had the Black Mirrors and strut tower brace as well as the Stock 255/40 19's. Most of the other stuff was suspension.
There will be a yellow sticker inside the door jam warning you about the Summer only tires, and that is the only V6 that has 19's from the factory.
