How many times can you argue wrong ****?
The end.
THANK YOU!!!

All I can figure is there's something in the V6 water that makes them cawazy.

They should have just made the sixers FWD and called the escorts.

Lol thats why I traded mine for the v8.

Before that, I was seeing 4 part drive shafts, 7 wheels, 9 cylinders... I was a wreck! Lol

To bad a person has to sort through V6 bashing to get information about the driveshaft confusion this post is about.

I did learn some Ford facts pertaining to the two piece/one piece driveshaft definitions, and to those folks, a big thanks for posting that.

^^^^^ Agreed. The photos of the two styles and shafts and the correct terminalogy hopefully cleared up some misconceptions. They did for me at least.

That's just par for the course with some V8 enthusiasts but that's okay. As passionate of many V8 enthusiasts about their V8's many 3.7 enthusiasts are just as passionate about their V6's.

Since 2011 Ford has given V6 enthusiasts something to brag about and real performance in the sixer. I for one couldn't give a crap what any of the V8 enthusiasts think of my or any 3.7 model. As they defend their V8, I too will defend the 3.7 as being an awesome power motor that provides serious performance for enthusiasts.

In the end, it just shows we all love our mustangs and all of them for that matter.

PLEASE do not kill me for posting on an old post.

I'm very impressed with the V6 mustangs (manual transmissions) performance output.

Performance is in the eye of the beholder. This is my second "sport car" that I would have owned. my first car was a 96 Acura Integra GSR that pushed about 200HP with light mods and was just a little heavier than a civic hatch and also topped out at around 140MPH. redline was 8100RPMS and it screamed through every gear

with today's laws, I'm happy that the mustang tops out at 110ish MPH... that is more than enough speed to lose your license! (in Canada anyways)

I've even considering using "my key" and programming my second key to not exceed 120KM/H for highway driving because, even test driving a washed down version of the mustang that I have on order, makes me feel like a 19 year old kid again - driving that GSR and I know that it will get me in trouble. enough trouble that I have 4 coworkers taking bets on how soon before I get a speeding ticket.

4,6,8 cylinders can all be classified as sports cars. Just let those who like to flap hot air out of their mouth's, let them keep talking

I'm super excited to drive my car AS IS from factory. I ordered it with all of the bells and whistles from factory and plan on driving it like that ( until warranty is up ) maybe hehehe

Can anyone with a 2014 V6 with performance package confirm the top speed? Hopefully a new driveshaft won't be required to hit the road course...and that speed limiter seems low enough to possibly cause issues as well.
I have a 14 performance package v6 with a Bama tune n intake an I've hit 150+ an hasn't blown yet I'm wondering if it just needs time to blow or if they somewhat fixed the issue cuz I almost always drove at least 120 to 130 n haven't had problems although I do have an issue when deceleration it vibrates a lot when I start hitting the break but still blno blown ds an I have 60k miles on it

v6 performance package speed

my 14 v6 pp tops at 113 or so by the limiter.
but its still puling hard. i heard they do like 150 or so without the limiter. i have only seen that umber i one place i think
I dont rember if that was 5th gear or 6th gear though. Im thinking 5th because when i did it i was supprised because i hit it so fast i didnt realize what happeed till i looked at the speed and if i was in 6th i would have expected it i think.

Ford has made some minor changes to the original driveshaft but it still remains basically the same. There have been 3 parts number for the shafts BR3Z-4602-A, BR3Z-4602-B and BR3Z-4602-C being the most recent.

I believe the issue with the drive shaft lies with what rear gears you have. I had 2.73 stock and hit the 120mph mark smoothly. I put 3.73 gears in the rear and 120mph sounds and feels horrible. Smooth at 80-105 but beyond that and I feel a bad vibration throughout the entire car and you can hear it too. I for one will not go beyond 120 until I get a one piece drive shaft.

That would make sense as the gear ratio determines how many times the driveshaft spins per one revolution of the rear wheels. 3.73 revs of the driveshaft versus 2.73 means that with 3.73s your driveshaft spins a lot faster at same vehicle speed.
