2014 Mustang V6 Performance PKG - Auto Headlamps
I would like to order a 2014 Mustang with the V6 Performance Pkg. When I configure the car on the Ford website, it appears I lose the auto headlamps? Is this true?
I tried calling Ford, but never got a direct answer.
Thanks

Can't answer that, but you can buy the switch for twenty odd dollars. I didn't get the option on mine that includes auto headlamps but bought and installed the switch and it works fine. The wiring is apparently there and the switch just gives you the connection that is needed.

If the Car has Fog Lamps it has Autolamps, the only way to get the autolamp feature was to add the tech package on the Base or the Pony package or MCA package on the Premium and you cannot get the Pony Package with the Performance Package but the MCA can be combined with it. Even the Premium V6 does not have the Autolamps without adding one of the 2 packages above.

My 2013 base V6 had the tech package which had the auto lamp feature. I traded it in for the 2014 V6 Premium Pony Package and it has the auto lamp feature also. I leave mine in the auto position all the time.
Now my 2007 F150 has it also, but I never use it. The lights actually look dimmer when left in the auto position versus when I manually turn them on. I have not noticed this with the mustang though.

All mustangs built from 2011 (at least) to present have the light sensor on top of the dash, so just adding the switch (which includes the fog lamp "pull out" feature) nets you the auto lamps.
I like it because if you operate the wipers, it also turns on the headlights; something in Florida that during the summer thunderstorms is a great idea. It's a law to operate the headlights during a storm, but many boneheads don't do it. I guess if they made the lights automatic for them, the problem is solved.
