2014 Mustang 3.7L - Clutch/Flywheel Upgrade
2014 Mustang 3.7L - Clutch/Flywheel Upgrade
Looking for input on upgrading the clutch and flywheel for my 2014 3.7L. Stock clutch is on it's way out, and would like to improve the pedal feel a bit. I've always felt that the clutch pedal was very vague, is this something that can be fixed with a different clutch? Motor is stock (I might go back to a tune in the near future but no other power upgrades) so I don't need a real heavy duty unit. My primary goal is to be able to better feel the clutch engagement through the pedal. There are a number of various clutch kits out there but it's difficult to see what's right for me given I'm not putting more power through it.
I also despise my dual mass flywheel (which vibrates considerably at 2000 RPM), so I'm going with a solid flywheel. I'm leaning towards steel as I don't really race it often (maybe some autocross occasionally) and I feel like an aluminum flywheel might be a little too light for street use. Any thoughts from folks that have made the change?

I have the SPEC Aluminum flywheel which I do like but I also have the SPEC Stage 2HD+ clutch which I would say is wayyyy too heavy for street use. There is also a lot of Clutch chatter with this setup so I look forward to changing it out soon!
A weaker clutch assist spring might help. https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s197-m...11-14-all.html
