2014 GT Shaker Radio Died
Need your advice!
So the past few months, my radio/speakers have been shorting out - every other day it makes this loud noise and the radio stops working. The next day or so, the radio turns back on again. Finally a few weeks ago, the radio completely stopped working. The clock, compass, temperature still appear on display and sync still connects to my phone, but there is no audio and cannot turn radio/cd/sirius on at all. Power windows, heated seats, A/C etc all still function normally.
I took it to the dealer today, and they told me they cannot fix it - needs to be replaced - quoted me $695! It's definitely no longer under warranty - I'm at 4 years/50k miles now.
Is it correct for me to assume they checked the fuses? Should I check one more time before getting a new stereo system?
Any suggestions for the replacement stereo, preferably touch screen with bluetooth?
Also, my aftermarket remote start stopped working. Is this related somehow?
Thanks in advance for your help.

See if the dealer can get you a re-manufactured unit, if not go with after market or pay the $695 if you want the stock look. I'm sure Pioneer, Kenwood, and Clarion make good replacements.
