2014 GT: induced Advance Trac issue

Pulled a dumb dumb move...So I swapped my shifter out for a short throw setup, 1st one was defective because the reverse safety lock-out did not work. Returned it and received a replacement, swapped it out and went to ops check it without re-installing the boot/bezel assy which has the advance trac/hazards/trunk open buttons which was not plugged back in. I believe my fatal flaw was that I wanted to ensure that my "back up aid sensors" functioned before buttoning everything up, I turned the key on, my the "aid" showed in the dash which was a good thing but now I have the "Service Advance Trac" light on in the dash. So I thought okay, I will just plug the harness back in and button up everything and it will go away. Uh nope! That has taken out everything...No power steering, seems like the brakes are off a bit and that the car does not accelerate aggressively either (93 race tune). So I went to FORD, they just did a code clearing which fixed nothing. This specific dealer I don't trust them with a box a crayons seeing it took them over a year to diagnose/fix my sons car correctly because they are that incompetent (bad o2 censors). So who can point me in the right direction of what needs to be reset? It has to be something needing reset. I saw some video where the guy talked about resetting the "HCU" but when I brought that up to my local clown show dealer, they had no clue what I was talking about.

hmmmm . . . not sure what is going on there . . . but the simple way to do a "reset" is to disconnect the battery for a while . . . a couple minutes is probably enough, but I'd leave it disconnected for a half hour to make sure

if you have a tuner or code reader, you can use that to clear the codes; but I don't think that is what you are talking about

I never heard of "HCU" either but there are lots of things I never heard of so that doesn't mean much, LOL

I am guessing they really meant the ECU? Have seen HCU & PCU used before, but not sure of the difference, maybe Manufacturer terminology?

Anyway I would go with Bert's suggestion. Should cure it...
