And why are 3.31's part of the performance package? It needs 3.73's, not a higher gear. I hated my 3.31's on my 07 GT.
It's still a car with 300+ hp

Why do people have to be a- holes about V6? You don't like V6s? Fine but you don't need to rain on everyone else's parade.

3.31's still are not a performance gear ratio unless you have a turbo. So like I said before, it would be better suited with 3.73's. It'd also benefit from 2 more pistons.

i agree with Tiger, there is no point bashing someone else's car, people get what they want. there is a reason Ford makes V6s and make so many options available with the V6.

if we are all that picky on the gear ratios and crap like you are, why don't we all just get a Ferrari 458? whatever gear ratio it has, it's faster than a boss, probably handles nicer too. oh wait probably none of us would spend 200 grand on a car that's why.

People get what they wanna get, there is no need to bash on their decisions. I like the mustang not because its performance although it has improved so much and is on par with the fastest in its class, i like mustang because of its history and heritage, the look and practicality as a daily driver - that's not something you can get out of every fast car like a 458 per say.

Hey guys I totally agree! I thought this was a forum for Mustang enthusiasts period. Thank god almost all the members are on the same page...but you know there will always be a few bad apples in the bushel.

Think of it this way without the V6 Mustang sales are pony car might have went the way of the Camaro years ago....now that would have been a shame.

Anyway back to subject

Im kind of wishing i wouldve waited a few more months before i pulled the trigger on my 12 sixxer. Its a base because that all i could afford at the time. Now thys its been awhile i wouldve had enough to get a PP V6 optioned however i wanted. Oh well, slick ride! I would have to say out of the gt and v6 models, the sixxer looks better overall. And still very quick (more tgan you really need in a DD) fuel efficient, looks and sounds great (depending on what u do) and is very practical.

A mustang is a mustang either way so fully optioned or base model, v6 or gt500, it doesnt matter. Blooldline, history, an reputation are all the same

3.31 gears are nice if you do a lot of highway driving. I had 3.73 gears installed last week because 99% of my driving is in town. I'm still breaking them in but i can tell a big improvement.

My first 3 Mustangs (on my 5th) were 4 cylinders

This will be Mustang number 3, never had a six but looking forward to it. First one was a 1986 SVO then a 1990 LX 5.0 Coupe both were just awesome! This one will be my daily driver all year and I put over 22k per year on average so the V6 made sense.
Wish I kept both of those stangs! Can't wait to see if Ford brings back the SVO for the 50th anniversary.

You don't break in gears.

my friend just bought a 2008 BMW 335i, i was just looking up some numbers, and found out that the 2011 Mustang V6 with Performance Package (3.31 gear) is just as fast 0-60, quarter mile is fairly close too with the v6 mustang only 0.2 second behind but the test numbers were from different sources (one from motortrend, one from insideline). so it's up to the driver.

While the 2011 and up GTs are insanely fast, i think the V6s are respectfully fast.

They are quick for a V6, and I'm impressed with Ford making the V6 perform the way it does. I still prefer the V8, and would not ever think of putting Recaro's in a base model Mustang.

I didn't truely mean to come off as a ****head.

I can't think of a reason why I need a V8? Seriously the V6 is a great car, just wish my vert didn't sound like a minivan.

Until they put the 3.7 in, I saw no compelling reason to get a V6. The old 4.0L didn't get substantially better gas mileage then the V8. I've owned two 5.0 Foxes and I love my new V6 just as much (if not more).

NICE PICS!!! Anyway you might be able to snap a few more? I'm dying waiting for mine....I ordered the same but with a manual and no reverse sensors. Interesting that Goodyear F1's are on the PP cars.
