All I can is when I had my base V6 PP, carving through canyons was incredibly fun. I was pushing the car to the limit of my endurance (read: courage), and the car felt steady and ready to go even harder

Nice pick! Did you order a premium or base coupe? I'm thinking of getting the same combo (PP, Recaro, MT), but am debating the premium vs base. If the cloth seats are the same texture as the ones in the Boss, I'd be very happy with cloth! I sat in those today and they felt great. I hated the old base rubber steering wheel, but for '13, leather steering wheels are standard on all cars.

Placed my factory order this past Wednesday. Ordered the following and think I got a good price.
2013 V6 base
Race Red
6 spd manual
Recaro Seats
Performance Package
Tech Package
$26,060.00
Called Ford Marketing I have a $750 private cash coupon BUT only good until May5th....don't think it will be built and delivered. But the lady at Ford told me the current Mustang rebate is up to $1000 and expires May5th. So who knows if the stars align maybe it will save me an addition $1000 if not I think $26,060 is good that includes freight.

Ford updated the 2013 Mustang Order Guide on 3.19.12 and now offers the 3.31 gears as a stand alone option on V6 models again w/o having to get the Performance Package.

Only extra will be the doc fees, tags, and unfortunately 6.25% MA taxes.

Recaro's in a V6???? Really?

And why are 3.31's part of the performance package? It needs 3.73's, not a higher gear. I hated my 3.31's on my 07 GT.

Not a big fan of the 2013 V6 performance package rims, I like the 2012 performance package rims alot more. Another thing I don't like about this year's v6 performance package is that it has summer-only tires, probably good in the states, but in Canada here i kinda prefer all-season tires.

The performance package has suspension strut tower brace and larger sway bars and firmer suspensions, as well as a 3.31 axle, i like these options.

Instead of getting the performance package for my 2013 order, i just ordered a 3.31 axle by itself, cos I want to get some after market rims that look like the ones in the 2012 performance package (and use the stock rims with winter tires). and as for suspension and sway bars and strut tower brace, I can just invest in upgrading those a few years down the road.

But i guess get it all from factory is actually a better deal overall. but i ordered glassroof and stuff, the cost eventually ended up being pretty high for a V6 here in Canada, so I opted out for PP.

I'm on X-plan and got another 1500 bux off the price, the Canadian V6 Premium doesn't come with leather interior so that is another 2 grand, I ended up spending just over 35 grand(including taxes) for my order, and that is a V6 premium + glassroof+ leather + interior upgrade package + MCA package. you could definately get a GT for less than 35G in the states.

I'm happy as long as it's a mustang with glassroof. : )

Imagine that Recaro's in a V6.....what did you think us V6 owners should have a milk crate to sit on?? Did I mistakenly think this was the Boss forums only................

Seriously. That's one of the silliest comments I've read. As if V6 drivers like to bounce their heads off the windows in the corners, Butabi-style.

Every part of your post makes you sound like an idiot. First of all, what the heck is wrong with a v6 with recaros? Are you trying to say that you would take a v6 without recaros over a v6 with recaros? If you say yes then you're a moron.

Secondly, you are either confused or don't know much about driveshaft gearing. 3.31 is lower gearing than what they come with (2.73)...so I'm not sure why you are wondering why the 3.31 is in the performance package?

Just so you know, the V6 pulls the same amount lateral G as the GT if not slightly higher even. (go check Motortrend if you don't believe)

Power is not what limits how much lateral G force you can generate when you go beyond a couple hundred hp, it's how much grip that becomes a limiting factor.

That was my point.

From: CenTex...sort of
Lateral G's have nothing to do with horsepower. Tires, suspension, weight and weight distribution, among other things, determine the amount of "stick" the car has on corners. It's common sense: you don't break your tires loose idling in the driveway, you do that when you give the wheels too much power. There is a theoretical amount of power past which the car can no longer keep the tires from losing grip. That point is well below the V6's power reservoir for a Mustang.

Dude, I wouldn't take a V6 period. Ever. Seriously.

3.31's still are not a performance gear ratio unless you have a turbo. So like I said before, it would be better suited with 3.73's. It'd also benefit from 2 more pistons.

No you'd be just fine sitting in normal seats and not wasting $1500.
