Mustang cobra or SVT cobra sounds great to me. And yes, the cobra means the good motor.
I think I remember those wheels on a corvette. Although they look better than the Shelby wheels from the last few years.

Ford bought the term "Cobra" from Shelby that had been used on the 1968-70 Shelby's. It isn't a reference to the engine as the only Shelby that used a Cobra jet engine was the GT500KR in 68.5 and the 69-70 GT500. The Cobra meaning is simply the top end performing Mustang and for most of it's history including at SVT it has used a slightly beefed up GT engine. I realize SVT has marketed these cars since 1993. SVT Cobra makes a lot more sense than Mustang Cobra.

My main point was mixing a horse and snake together makes no logical sense for a name.

Yeah. My car came factory with a horse in the grille opening and snakes on the sides. Not cool. Wish the passenger side dash didn't say mustang either but I thing that's the only place it says it. Since 93, the cobra was the only way you could get the good motor. I would love to just order a GT with a charged 5.4 or now a 5.8. In the 60's and 70's, I believe you could special order you engine combination.

The GT500 doesn't even say Ford on it, let alone say mustang. It doesn't say either anywhere. The only reference to ford is on the key and that's it.

Speaking for all 2010+ mustang line ups I really love the fact that there is no blue oval logo anywhere around the car, makes people wonder who made it, 2010+ V6 and GT don't even say ford around the faux cap I loooove that.

My car has the blue ***hole on it. Would like to find a chrome one that I can paint when I finally black out the emblems.

I prefer coupes, but that's lovely. The standard wheels are gorgeous, too.

And I like the fact it shared the stage with a red '93 SVT Cobra R.

Happy birthday, SVT

Sucks that it is limited to 155mph. Wonder if a tuner could disable that.

sure, but a tuner cant make the convert top stay in one peice between 155 and 200!
I dont think the aero of the convert will allow it to hit 200 anyway but you get the point

I don't think you would even want to go 155 let alone faster in a convertible. LOL

IMO the back on these are gaudy/too much going on.

Massive stripes (that stop on the spoiler?), "SHELBY"..., quads, spoiler, black out panel, horizontal license plate plastic, vertical diffuser, faux cap, antenna, reflectors.

Meanwhile the front is missing a grille...

You're going to have to be more specific.

I'm sorry guys, maybe I'm the only one here that feels this way, but the more and more I see pics of 2013's, the more I think they overdid the design, especially with that horrible rear license plate surround. And the fronts of the fascia... what is up with the vertical trim pieces in that gaping hole? Almost looks like it needs a honeycomb or something...

IMO, the 2012 Shelbies looked great..... the 2013, I'm not feeling it.

The front is open like that because more cooling was needed. The old grill with the honeycomb did not flow well enough. The vertical stantions are functional as well they are the supports for the ducted coolers that reside behind. Those front end changes were not done to make the car look better they were done soley because of functional changes and the requirement for more cooling.
