2013 mustang v6 dropping RPMs in 2nd and 3rd gear

I have 2013 mustang v6 with 17,050 miles and when i step on the gas or ease on the gas my 2nd and 3rd gear drop RPMs a little bit. It doesn't have a consent pull. It dose it no matter if in auto or select shift. Anybody else has this problem.

I have a something like this on my 2011. Feels like an 'extra shift' between 2nd gear and third gear. Its the torque converter locking and is normal. Take it to your dealer to make sure its not something else. Post back and tell us what your dealer says. And welcome to The Mustang Source

Also, drive the car on S mode and see if it still does it. That will help narrow it down to the torque converter. I think.

It does it in S mode also. I put it in 2nd gear and drive and around 2500-3000 RPMs the needle drops a little and goes back up. Same with 3rd gear

I don't think its the 'torque converter' locking on your Mustang. Mine does it 'once' between second gear and third gear. Something is messed up, come back and tell us what your dealer says

Mine would do the same thing as well. I eventually fixed it by trading the car in.

Hello Kaleb LaCoste,

Were you able to go on a test drive with the tech or service manager? This helps show your concerns to them and helps them duplicate it. Also, I’d like to get this escalated to the customer service manager for your area if needed. Will you please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number?

I emailed the guy I bought the car from and he went test drive it with a technician. They got it to act up finally. He said they will hook up the computer to it and try to recreate the problem to pinpoint what is wrong.

thats good. Don't give up until they at least have something to tell you other than its normal because, clearly, it isn't.

Did they mention why it’s doing what you guys feel is doing, Kaleb LaCoste? Did they state it was normal for the vehicle to do this? Did they say there was no repair available for your concern?

They said its the torque converter locking. He said it always did it but you notice it more since I have a intake and exhaust.

If you’re not comfortable with their findings, I recommend you get a second opinion at a different Ford Dealer. Let me know what they say.
