2013 Mustang V6 Base vs Premium (Canadian)
Hey guys,
I'm currently looking at the different options available for the V6 mustang and I don't fully understand their Canadian V6 pricing scheme.
What is the difference between the Base model and the basic Premium model? From what I've seen, looks like different 17inch wheel? But what makes the 2875$ difference?
From what I've seen, you can't select any options with the base model. So if I just want the rear spoiler, I have to pay 3275$ (2875+400) for a 100$ plastic piece?
Wouldn't I be better off to just buy off the pieces and make them installed after receiving the car?
Thanks
Edit:
I just saw someone bumped it, might as well update the thread.
After asking multiple dealer, none could actually give me an answer. However, I found the catch. On the car, the only difference is indeed the wheels (as seen in the order guide).
However, the main difference is the financing and their MSRP/Invoice margin (what you can deal with).
On the base V6, their financing is quite high 5-6% while I've seen 3% for the Premium V6. They also have a lot more margin on the V6 Premium to negotiate. If you add all theses up (and you take ford financing), the premium cost ~400-500$ more than the base model (which make sense for wheels + the options fee I guess).
However, if you got access to external financing, the base model is a steal.
As for me, I did a superb 'Since I'm here, might as well...' and got myself a GT

I'm also interested in the perf pack. But at 5000$ (3k prem + 2k pp), I'm thinking about buying the suspension upgrade (1300$ from ford racing) + 3.71 gear (instead of 3.31) and getting them installed.
With the 2700$ left, I can actually get a nice set of rim and tire for quite cheaper.

Since when do you need a premium to get the performance package? Is this a special rule in Canada, because you can get the Perf Pack on the base v6 in the u.s.

going from base to premium in the interior is a big change(leather, the accent package etc.) The car really looks much more complete on the inside with it.

That is true for the US V6 Premium model, but from what I see in the website/Order guide, it's not the case on the Canadian version.

My 2013 order (see signature) ended up with a MSRP over 35K, not far from a US GT

wow, the prices in Canada are crazy...
if it was up to me I would just go and get the car in the US, even if its a long trip, it will
save most canadians thousands of dollars ( Canadian or US dollars, especially when the exchange rate is almost 1:1)
