Thanks for posting the link.

It is hard to believe that they would adopt the GT500 look on the standard car and not keep it unique - a move that I am sure would not please GT500 owners. I can't wait to see the end result and am suprised at the magnitude of the changes that they are going to make for what will only be another year or two of production.

Since sales are not that great they want all us '11-'12 owners to trade our cars in.

I'm still anxious to see what the total package looks like. I think it's going to be a host of changes that will make the car look fresh enough to soldier on for another two years.

I think with them adopting the GT500 cues, it's safe to say the GT500 will get a facelift to make it unique in its own right. We'll know soon enough.

i like the idea of an additional HP hump for the GT, i would like to see some improvements to the MT-82 as well to bullet proof it. Very curious about the styling changes and interior improvements. Seems like there have been little to no leakage on interior changes/upgrade, or new options.

Interesting...
If thats true, I hope that the GT500 steals some "cues"
from the Super Snake and the KR...and while there at it, steal the
rear lights from the 69 GT500 or the 05 concept GT...
425hp for the GT would be incredible.

I guess if the GT takes current GT500 style then the gt500 will be updated as well, the 2011 GT hints 09 gt500 with it's angled grill. The new Shelby will be exclusive no matter what ford does to the GT

Many Mustang fans will also be happy to know that the controversial taillight design first seen on the 2010 Mustang have also gone on the chopping block for 2013, giving way to a lights that run straight across the back of the car rather than angling towards the front.
Can't wait to see that.

Front looks okay if it's same as that mule pic.. it's like a middle ground between a GT500 and a V6 fascia, but doesn't look as good as either

That's what the original ZR-1 owners said when GM put the convex ZR-1 rear end on all the Corvettes back in the early 90's.

Lol, yah! More hp and possibly eliminating most people's major aesthetic complaint (the tail lights), how dumb can they be!

As far as the SVT stuff, it always makes it's way down. Remember when the 01 SVT Cobra hood ended up on the V6 mustangs, haha

If they give it more horsepower, I wonder if it will come with a warranty?

Some good and some bad here. First off styling the 2013 off the Shelby is a mistake! Part of what was done so well for the 2010 was giving the 3 models their distinct looks. The V-6, GT and GT500 all looked very different as they should! If the GT looks like the GT500 we are going into Camaro territory where the ZL1 looks almost the same as the SS. Going back to history the Shelby's from 67 forward were very different asthetically from the standard Mustangs. It doesn't sound like the GT500 is changing much at all from reports so this is not a change in the right direction.

The redesigned rear will obviously make many people happy. The HP bump for the GT is a good idea. In a 1/2 mile race the SS displacment at 6.2 liters really starts to show as the Camaro will beat the GT in most circumstances. The 2012 RS has 326 HP, but I haven't seen any comparison yet by auto mags so I don't know if the Mustang V-6 will need a bump or not.

Since the order banks open in Oct. I am surprised by a mid Nov. reveal. I honestly would have expected early Oct. at least in print or online.

I hope so, but early reports said the GT500 would barely change at all from a style perspective.

That was an assumption by the blogs reporting it. The Nurburgring testing of the '13 showed modified 10+ front fascias. Considering the rumors of more power, then it's safe to assume that it needs more cooling, better aero, etc...all of which are going to impact design of the car. Also, considering we've started seeing camo'ed '13 mules in the southeast MI area, they've got the final design out and testing. I don't know if anyone has spotted a '13 GT500 with the front and rear ends covered yet.

Who knows, maybe with all that German testing, they'll adopt some styling cues from their high-performance cars...
