Painted my 2013 vents very easy mod
- I popped off four of the hood liner clips on each side to gain better access. Just pry them up and use two hands and turn like a steering wheel while pulling down and they pop right off.
- There is a bolt that you wrench off. The washer hose side just pulls off to access bolt.
- The clips just press in the middle and slowly pop up working side to side and back to front.
- Paint using desired look. I used Krlyon semigloss for plastic.
- Re-assamble in reverse.

jetman028,
I like how that turned out too. I have a red candy 2013. I am thinking of painting mine black or dark grey to match the brembo wheels. Someone else has done the same thing by paying a company to cover it with a plastic covered paint; the original color can be retrieved if desired. Have any of you heard of this?
Additionally, did you have to sand the paint down on the vents?
I have not made the decision on which route I intend to go.

Man I love this site... I finally find someone finally making a post on GT500 quad swap and valance and now this I been thinking about doing this to my DIB. I never liked how the extractors are the same color as the body and hood. It doesn't pop. Not sure if I wan to try this with the stock extractors tho.
Does anyone know the part number for them?

Here's mine. I used the infamous PlastiDip so I can just peel it off if I want.

Stevedotmil, or anyone that have experience with plastidip, does the material really Peel off as easy it is to spray it on? I never used plastidip before but I always wondered if is really that easy to just peel off when you want to return it back to stock..
Also stevedotmil, do you happen to have a pic of your car a little further back after you plastidipped your heat extractor?

That's what mine look like except matte black. And yes it just peels right off. you can kind of roll it like a condom to get it started and then the rest is easy. YouTube plastidip and see what you get. There's even a couple of guys who sell it by the gallon and the kit to do your whole car another color if you wanted. Dipmycar dot com. I PlastiDip'd the grill on my previous car and it lasted a year and a half before I had to respray it. I didn't even take the old stuff off. I just sprayed over it and it came out looking just as good as when I first did it.
