2013 - 2014 MUSTANG HEADLIGHTS/DRLs

Hi,

To those that own, or work with the 2013/2014 mustang the new headlights have daytime running lights, those two horizontal bars. Though I'm not to fond of these because on some cars they look very "dull" and have a different color than the main headlight, I was wondering where it gets its power/energy from.

So, my questions:
1. Do these DRLs get power/light/energy(whatever) from the main HID/Headlight's light bulb or does it use it's own lightbulb?

2. If it uses it's own light bulb, can you use an aftermarket bulb and replace it?

3. Has anyone tried replacing it?

I've seen some mustangs where both the HID and DRL have the same color, while others the HID and DRL have a totally different color. Here are pictures to show what I'm talking about.

I've searched youtube and google but no answer, care to help?

Thank you!

The DRLs are LED strips.

As far as I know those lights are LEDs and shouldn't need to be replaced.

So there is no way you can change the color of those LED strips?

I am to lazy to find this guys original post on the led color change. But here is a link to svtperformance. There is a member on there who has done what you are talking about. His forum name is ratchet. I guess you could pm him and ask. The link is to a wheel sticky. His car is on page 30 if the link doesn't automatically bring you there.
