2012 Remote start doesnt work

I just took delivery of my new 2012 GT with remote start. When I hold the keyfob button down the horn chirps once, the taillights come on, and I hear some weird motorized sound come from the car then stop. The engine never cranks. Finally the car horn chirps one more time and just sits there forever with the taillights on. I have to enter the vehicle and hit the brake pedal to disengage everything. The manual only has error codes for 2 chirps or more.

I found the maker of the remote start system, a company by the name of "code systems". Their manual says if the horn chirps once, then "securilock" isnt programmed correctly. I tried to follow their steps but got nowhere.

Ideas? I recorded a youtube video of how my car behaves if anyone is interested.

Hi RunNgun,

Congrats on your new ride!! I recommend you bring it in to your Ford dealer as soon as possible. Also, since I already have your VIN, PM me with your dealer, mileage, and contact info so I can escalate this for you.

UPDATE: I took the car to the dealer, they claimed they discovered a "pinched wire" and fixed it. The next day it stopped working again.

UPDATE 2: I took it back to the dealer, they kept it all day, said they cant figure out whats wrong, and just unplugged and replugged everything back in again. It has been working for the last 2 days.

The said if it fails again they'll just order a new one and replace the unit.

The "motorized" sound you mentioned sounds like the fuel pump kicking on and priming like it does when you turn the switch on. Stand behind the car and have someone else turn the switch to on (without cranking it) and see if its the same sound. If so, its obviously activating the ignition on, but not following all the way through to the start mode.

Looks like your dealer is working with you. The first horn chirp, doors are locking. Right after the second horn chirp the engine is supposed to start. Mine seems to run for around 4 or 5 minutes before shutting itself off. If i need more 'warm up' time, i'll remote start it again .
