2012 Mustang Order Guide

I want to see the Lava Red interior.
My guess would be that it will look like the 07-09 GT500 red package seats but with lava red instead of torch red inserts. Along with lava red door inserts.
Can't wait.
Either a GB w/GB stripe seats or BLK/LR seats.

I didn't read anything about the driver seat not being power.

I've been busy filling your shoes here online (order guides, pricing, etc.). Stick around and have some fun here with us.

I'd bet that Ford simply copied & pasted the 2011 order guide when creating the 2012 order guide and simply forgot to proofread and left a few stars where they didn't belong.

On what point? The CTS-V has 556HP and weighs over 4000 lbs. The Boss has laucnch control and the 2012 GT500 should get it too. The GT500 is already trapping faster than the CTS-V so if it hooks up its all over. So back to my original point, the GT500 has little to worry about.

The factory really needs to figure out a way to harness all the power the GT500 produces if it's gonna compete successfully with the Z28 and CTS-V.

The Recaro's are definitely on my list of things I would like to drop into the car, but only if they don't have "GT500" or the Cobra emblem on the seat itself. I can deal with "SVT" or nothing at all.
I'll take a set in black/black please.

Proving once again I don't have a life, I looked up a Camaro SS and CTS-V on the GM media site. The SS weighed 3849 lbs and the CTS-V weighed 4200 lbs. The engine mods alone will add 150 lbs to the SS. Big brakes and tires will add to that. The Z28 should weigh at least 4000 lbs. Obviously there's more to drag race than basic physics but the same power and less weight equals greater acceleration.

"If it hooks up" if the operative question. I've NEVER been beat by a GT500 at either of our local dragstrips as they just don't launch well enough. Sure, it's entertaining to watch the tirespin and fishtailing, and they sure are gaining on me hard as the 1/4 mile stripe approaches, but I still beat them to the traps every time. Bring a GT500 to the dragstrip with drag radials and/or mods, and I have to be on my guard (and I would possibly lose).

If the GT500 gets launch control for 2012, and I think it will, it will beat a CTS-V. The last test I saw showed the CTS-V like .2 seconds faster with a lower trap speed than a 2011 GT500. The Z28 at 4100 pounds ain't going to be any faster than a CTS-V (.1 seconds/1 MPH?). That's a drivers racing and competing well enough in my book. That's like saying a 2011 5.0 needs to step it up versus an SS. I can see why Ford doesn't seemed concerned about the Z28 for now.
It's the auto trans that makes the CTS-V so quick. This is the point I raised in another thread, todays auto trans. are so good that they outperform man. trans. If you want the best 0-60 or 1/4 mile times than an auto trans. is a must.

I'm with you about today's automatics. they are as good as manuals and you'll be more consistent at a track.

Fact remains can the GT500 do 0-60 in 3.9 because the 4,222 lb. stock CTS-V can. The problem with the GT500 is it doesn't hook up till 3rd gear. This has been the problem since day 1. Again bigger tires eliminates this altogether so I am amazed it still has 9.5 in. rims.

So once again I will say....the GT500 will never reach it's full potential as long as it has only a 6 speed manual in it. Now I'm not saying they should put an auto in it and I wouldn't want to see one in the car, but the reality is that automatics rule the world of performance cars.
