I know ...
  • CS Front Valance w/fogs, + $30 pulse sequencing relay to use both sets of fogs
  • GT500 rear valance (which I'll likely be selling)
  • GT500 mufflers
  • GT500 rear mudflaps
  • 401A Shift ball and boot
  • Hertz ESK130 Component speakers for the front
  • Hertz ECX570 Coaxial speakers for the rear
Ordering soon:
  • Steeda Hood Struts
  • Steeda CAI Power Package
  • Steeda Short Shifter
This crap keeps up I'm going to end up sleeping on a cot in the garage.,,

I also am going to order the CS Front Valance with Fogs, but I want to run the GT grill fogs on a separate switch so they run independantly of everything else. Does Ford have parts to do that or would I have to look around? I have seen people on the forums use switches that they buy at radio shack, but I would rather have something that looks nicer and hopefully says Fog, Lights, or something like that, even if I have to order a switch from a different company. Thanks

Personally, I DO NOT want any aftermarket switches in my car. In Canada it's illegal to have 6 white lights on the front of the car on at once anyways, so what I did was get one of these:

http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/pro...FC-GB100000001

Basically how it works is off the existing foglight switch. Pull out the switch, one set of fogs come on. Push the switch in and pull it back out and the other set of lights come on. The most expensive part of it all are the pigtails, so i don't need to cut the factory harness. I'm designing the loom to be plug and play.

Haven't really read through the thread so forgive me if this has been answered. Does anyone have a close approximation or even a general idea of when the 12's will start hitting showrooms?

I don't think I would need to have all 6 on at once, although it would be nice to have the option. I was just wanting a setup where my GT lights would either be on or off and stay that way, no matter what I did with my low/high beams or little fogs. I like going Ford, but there are other high quality switches available from places like Toyota. All I should need to make that setup work would be steady power and a good switch to turn them on and off. What you did seems good, but I think if I can rig it up independantly, that will be worth the extra trouble.

To do it properly you need a 15A relay and a switched ignition source, a 15A fuse and a 2-5A fuse and a switch.

Use the switched power through the 2-5A fuse (the size depends on the relay draw) then to the switch and out to the relay under your hood. You wire this to the coil side of the relay. The other side of the coil is grounded. You can use an 18-20 ga wire for this.
You can tap off the battery or out of the underhood fuse panel for the constant power for the fogs; fuse it 15A run it through the contact side of the relay out to the fogs, remember to ground the other side of the fogs because the factory harness depends on the harness ground to complete the circuit. You should** use 14 ga wire for this part of the circuit.

It's important to use a relay and a switched ignition source so that you don't accidently forget your fogs on. This will ensure that the fogs are out when you shut off the car.

I would not advise anyone wiring fogs up directly off the switched ignition, you may end up burning out your ignition relay.

First week of March for the dealership I work for. We have a couple due to arrive March 1st. I suspect dealers closer to the factory will start seeing '12's by the end of February.

So Matt,

I see you've been busy. So the Steeda hood strut is a decent piece? Also interested in the speakers. Are they a direct bolt in or is there some fab work involved for the connectors. Haven't heard of Hertz before. I figured something like Boston Acoustic or Bose would be the choice. Any details? Those are the two area I'm looking to upgrade (maybe the mufflers if it don't sound as good as the Road Runner)

You'll have to share your wisdom with me on how the door panels come off for the speaker change. I'd imagine the rears are easy (flop the seat backs down and squeeze your a$$ into the back). So what kind of music do you intend to blare? I figure if you're an old fart like me some Pink Floyd, Genesis, or dare I say Rush might find it's way on to the hard drive.

+1 on the speaker install info request. The stock speakers are just too bad to keep. That wiring info for the fog lights is very helpful. That sounds like just the right way to put in the fogs. Thanks. Now I just need the car.

Also, Deysha said that some orders have started to be scheduled now, so hopefully I will see some progress on my order. (I assume she means retail orders). So, if that is true then the Ok to Buy has been given this week, right? I do hope we start seeing progress.

I sincerely hope your gets pulled soon. You've gone through far more dealer run arounds and mis information than anyone should have to put up with
